The Nokia bracket was a great idea.

Love the motor too! Lets see some pics of the rest of it sometime too.

Looks like you got all the bells and whistles on there - with CD stacker and SatNav.. and oh .. the 6speed 130horse! Oooh yess!

:roll: .. ehhhhhh .. no. !

Got laptop problem sorted (CDROM drive intermittent) .. and
have got VagCOM activation code in - so have fully functioning VagCom

.. now need a) time to learn to drive the thing and
b) transponder chips to arrive .. still haven't appeared - tho' got an email saying they ...

Criminey - quad band! --- I just got a pic on screen that showed 144 and 432 - and ASSUMED dual-band .... that is an AWESOME piece of kit -
its TINY for that power ..

.. just lookin' at the specs now .. up to 50W on 2 and below! And 35 on 70cms!

And it can listen on 800 as well! (that's a US ...

Listen to the Key fobs!!

A bit off-topic :lol:

.. just looked up on the web - and I see that FT 8900 is a dual-band baby .. nice .. 2m & 70cm -

.. the weird thought I had was that you can listen to VW key-fobs!! ..
.. most of the B5s are 433MHz, and the B5.5s are mix of 433, 433.9 and 434.

.. oh you can listen to Audi ...

have checked all those fuses on the main board - the appropriate ones - AND all the other ones too!! JTBS!

looks like my setup was totally horlicksed by those dealer guys ..

and ya know - they even charged for a replacement fuse!! -- one that I reckon is blown again - wherever it is... I have a suspicion they might have trapped the fan wires and ...

Mine's a '99 Sport TDi (called a Trendline over here) .. and the "computer" you're talking about was not standard - it was part of an option package that they called the "Technical Pack".
Assuming it was probably similar in UK ..

Hey s-line .. thanks for that - and I hadn't you in mind at all - about the buzz! .. Its in all the forums I've looked at. I've seen some guys on some American forums getting right stroppy over stuff I know they are wrong on! I have had to change my mind a few times too on the technicalities of it ...

Seems so .. and I'm open to correction here - as I haven't managed to get my own VAGCOM fully sorted yet (hardware problem) ..

.. but the buzz out there is that - if a key has already been coded to one car - it cannot be coded to another one. So those second-hand keys off eBay will only be useful ...
