Chrome door trim
My lower chrome plastic door trim (rear door driver’s side) has ridden over the edge of the drivers door causing it to bend back and after trying to glue it back is not seating back properly and is now stopping the door opening unless you use one hand to push the trim down when you open the door. Is...

Re: Which Cam Belt Kit and Pump

One has a product code 348770296 £183.99 One has 348770766 £94.99 One has 348770816 £126.99 The prices are without Euro Car parts massive discount code! Surely it shouldn’t be this complicat...

Ok, so it basically boils down to my engine code and I have an AWX engine so I think that’s it sorted!

Where do I get an alternator clutch pulley?
Just realised that I don’t need one as I only fitted a new alternator a month ago!

Which Cam Belt Kit and Pump
So, I’ve found a great guy that will charge me £150 to replace my cam belt, including tensioner, auxillary belts and water pump. I said I’ll supply the kit and pump but when I put my reg number into Euro Car Parts parts finder it comes up with three kit choices and two pump choices. Which one do I n...

Re: paint codes
I have a stonehenge grey (green) car B5.5 Highline.
How do I know whether the paint code is clear pat or not. There are two stonehenge greys in the paint code list. What's the difference?

Re: Am I wrong for sending this letter.....
Having just seen your picture attached (thought you said B5 above) but obviously you paid more for an 05' Highline........wouldn't worry though still as the colour you have is common so just sit tight and wait for a breaker to come up on Ebay then snap up his wingzzzz.... :hyst Bolt them off and bo...

Re: Am I wrong for sending this letter.....
I don't think you are going to gain anything from sending that e-mail as it is, but changing it to a more friendly tone and asking if they were aware that they had been resprayed, as you'd got it checked under the warranty they might be a little more forth coming about other issues also. I've alrea...

Re: Am I wrong for sending this letter.....
Tbh the rust on the wings is very common so it's possible it's already been repaired rather than them pulling the wool over your eyes Tbh I don't see what your going to achieve by sending it and would be trying to hunt down some replacement wings second hand in the right colour if it was me Only do...

Re: intermitantly loosing power whilst driving ?
Blimey, seems like everybody's got a power loss problem including me! I've got a thread of my own going at the moment. I' (hopefully) have narrowed it down to my MAP (turbo boost sensor) that I have just ordered from Ebay. Ruled out turbo, MAF sensor, split hoses so lets hope its the MAP. I suppose ...

Re: MAF problem maybe ?? PLEASE HELP :-)
Um having exactly the same problem...checked the MAF (unplugged and no difference), checked the N75 valve (seems to be ok), turbo seems fine, no vacuum leaks, so just ordered a new MAP sensor, hopefully that''ll do the job!

Re: No Boost Pressure Problem......HELP
I had a mate hook up a diagnostic reader and I got the following code: P1557 - Charge Pressure Control positive deviation. I got that when the turbo pipe from the turbo to the front pipe under the radiator got a crack in it, plus a whooshing noise as it sucked in air and black smoke out the back (o...

"There doesn't appear to be much clearance between the end of the head and the firewall."
You're telling me! There's about 150mm clearance and the harness is about 400mm long!

Are you sure, I reckon the new one will snap if I bend it. How would you suggest I heat it up?

Re: Misfire, Is it Injector or Wiring Harness? (Codes Inc)
Right, bought the harness, taken off the rocker cover....now how do I get the old one out. It pulls out towards the bulkhead, you cant bend it, you certainly cant bend the new one in without snapping it. I was told it was an easy fix!

Thanks for that, I must admit that you have confirmed my thoughts. I have been told by one mechanic friend that the rocker cover should be changed?
