Re: PD130 loss of coolant, low temp, leak out the expansion
Hi all, thanks for the replies, they cover full range of options of what I thought it might be so I'm thinking along the right lines. So in answer: - No blowing cold, the heater works fine and no smell or fogging up of the windscreen from inside. - No idea when the water pump was changed, certainly ...

PD130 loss of coolant, low temp, leak out the expansion cap
Hi guys, Have read quite a few similar posts on the forum, but nothing exactly the same so hoping you can help me solve this one. It's a tdi 130 with 147k on the clock. So I have three symptoms - -Coolant loss, was quite gradual but seems to be increasing, seems also to be worse when driving the car...

Re: 2001 5.5 Break in, all windows down...
Yep, it seems to be a feature on all passats, certainly the 5 and early 5.5. To be honest, I'm just glad they didn't smash a window. As far as thefts go it's a pretty painless one, I guess I just want others to know so that they don't lose anything more significant than a couple of quid out the asht...

Thanks mate, that's really useful. Is there more than one silver colour for passats? Thought I'd cruise the breakers and see what I can find.

2001 5.5 Break in, all windows down...
Went out to the car this morning to find all the wndows down and the lock on the passenger side has been attacked with a screwdriver. They'd been through all my stuff, they were obviously looking for satnav/laptop but all they got was a couple of quid out the ashtray. After a quick web search I foun...

Re: Transponder Switchblade Key Broken
Having problems with my locking at the mo too. With mine if you put the key in the ignition and turn it one click the alarm stops. If it's the battery it's really easy to change just need to slide a screw driver in the hole that's left when you flip the key out and twist - you tube has loads of how ...

Re: Failed auto dimming rear view mirror
Thanks again, more really useful info. When this gets too much. I'll bite the bullet and buy a replacement (unless anyone has one second hand in the meantime) and post up my findings. Fluke, I don't know how you would tell. The mirror with the fluid still in seems to have a brownish tinge. It's poss...

Re: Failed auto dimming rear view mirror

Found this on the removal/fitting does that seem about right? Do you have the rain sensor? (EDIT Ah I see now that you have the twist off so prob...

Re: Sh*t, just bought these
Nice one guys, thanks for the advice. I knew you'd understand Chris ;-) I was going to hold out for your 18's but these looked like something a bit different but still in the same vein. 17's will keep the gf happy too, and she half owns the car! So spiggot rings, spacers and possibly bolts -...

Cheers for the reply ant, google says the 'sport' model has -20mm from standard. In an ideal world I'd love to deck it, but the reality is that for now budget is for wheels only. I just found a couple of pics of sport suspension and 18's which dosn't look too bad. Anyone know if I did want to drop i...

Hello
Hi Folks, Just picked this up from a bloke in Stroud, 89k 01 plate Sport with a few toys, seems to have had bits when needed and services on schedule, goes like sh*t off a shovel, but then I've never owned a car newer than a N plate before! http://media.dogsandpuppies.co.uk/files/instance-02/main_ph...
