As a matter of course, my brother has an Astra VXR about 1 year old and the mirror game off it, looked like it had nothing more than sticky back tape holding it on
I regularly try to convert him to Dub mines 14 years old and just has general wear and tear 174k miles

Re: Replacing Suspension : cheaper alternatives
Thanks, can try that. I'd rather try ECP or GSF as I have a thing about scrap yard salvages, certain things I just won't buy unless I know they're relatively new.

What you think?
I've never really considered coilovers or uprated dampers but when they're cheaper than standard suspension it's not hard to argue about

Re: Replacing Suspension : cheaper alternatives
I'm not particularly bothered about aftermarket upgrades, however if I can get some coilovers for £200 that are similar to factory I'll more than happily fit them. Saves me some money and adjustable damping strength is always good since the VW paint codes are confusing

Re: guide needed for replacing passat b5 headlight
It's ridiculously easy to do, bit of a pain because of the airbox on drivers side, but still only takes around 1 min to remove each side with the tools if you have them at hand.

Re: Caliper Rebuilding
I did one of my fronts, I had to soak them in a sachet of liquid for 24 hours after buying them from VW, so allow for that. It was very hard to get the piston back in with the seal on but I managed. Caliper Rebuilding
The main piston seal appears to have gone inside my caliper and I'm considering repairing it. Is it easy / hard - I've watched videos and I'm comfortable doing myself, but I've heard horrors about them failing later on and given that it's something you rely upon with your life I don't want to mess i...
