Re: 20vt in a B3
What about the TFSi 2.0 from the Mk5 Golf, leons & audis? Easy 300bhp with just a remap, 400bhp with hybrid turbo etc  They cost similar amount to the 1.8T and use same mounts as the 1.8T too (my work colleague just bought one for £1500 - AXX engine, box & ecu from a scrappy in Wakef...

Oh my Craigy!
I suspect you are turning into a B3 addict
Let the good times roll brother! - lovin' the 80's/90's retro blue interior...
Is that the 2 litre lump in there?
How is Victor or has he gone on to other adventures?
Happy new year!

Re: passat 2.0l 8v agg info
hi if you go for 170bhp then the "workhorse" bit goes out the window a tad. its a big ask of the 115bhp motor to stay 100% reliable as a "workhorse" - might be better to aim for 140ish cos it will still be quick, not to mention the cash needed to get to 170bhp. not tryin to deter...

Re: Where can i get power?
If I was going to have the expense and headache of doing an engine conversion, I would definately go one of two routes.... 1 - 2.0 TFSi Mk5 Golf GTi engine - easy 300bhp, reliable and around 35mpg on a run or.. 2 - 1.9 PD TD Mk4 Golf diesel - easy 180bhp, lots of torque, reliable and around 44mpg Yo...

Re: B3 Wagon, ICE install?
One thing to keep in mind if you consider putting subs/spks in the storage sides is to keep adequate airflow so the airflow from the heater has somewhere to escape - stops you steaming up and havin a smelly car! :ymsick: Another option is to custom build a 10" sub enclosure into the floor stora...

As kwakbiker asks, how much will the screen cost you? and where did you source it from? Mine is going white around the edges...delamination?....either way it looks poo  Yet as mifkif says, at least it will be fresh as a daisy! :-P Good luck, hope it doesnt hurt you too much in the wallet

2.0 8 valve issue
Hi guys, Just a quick one....... I have the 2.0 8 valve 2E engine in my B3, it runs sweet as, with perfect idle speed but when going through the gears it briefly holds the revs arounbd 1800 - 2000 rpm. Any ideas?? I'm thinking idle stabilsation solenoid or am I barking up the wrong tree? Its not a m...

Hi mate, I agree with Matt - once you start..... :hyst What i would suggest, if you want lots of bass for not lots of £'s is to go for the Vibe amps and subs - Vibe do a relatively small twin 12" box including subs which absolutely pounds your innards with bass! :ymsick: For the cost vs perfor...

Re: Passat estate querie ?
You'd be better off with the 1.8t if you think you are going down any sort of tuning route. The 2.3 V5 is not as tuneable, although a 5 cylinder off-beat growl is a pleasure to hear! Have a look at Carmageddons B5 1.8t (August COTM) - he has got more power than you would ever get from a V5 for the m...

Re: speaker wire to b5 speakers
Hi Mate, if your amp is not mega power, the standard speaker cable is perfectly fine - it is also twisted too in the B5's, which is good as it helps prevent interference. You'd be hard pressed to notice any sound quality differences between the standard cable and heavy duty cable in a car environmen...
