Any ideas or help?
Any info this weekend would be great as it gives me some time to get it done!
I'll keep this updated if I find anything out.

Passat ABS wiring...
Hi Guys,
I'm looking to find out where the Passat B5.5 interior wiring for the ABS L&R sensors are.
I've read that they are under the "passenger side A-pillar connector station". However, that information comes from an American site and they are referring to the US spec'd car.

I ran some 17" Jag XJ wheels on my old E36.
The lip sat exactly flush with the arch. 17" x 8J. Perfect.
The only thing I needed were spigots.
Also be aware that the older models tend to use flat bolts.
So they aren't Conical or Ball-seated.

Pretty sure I read somewhere that you'll have issues with the auto levelling feature.
I think another separate bit of wiring is needed for that. But don't quote me on it!

LM reps over those "Mercedes" replicas at the top any day.
Really not a fan of the deep dish, squared spoked look. Just remind me of Wolfrace/BK wheels.
Motorsport/sporty looking = 19"/18" LM reps.
Cruising/VIP looking = 18" Mercedes Avantgarde Monoblocks.

With 9.5's and ET35 offset you might need to space them out 10/15mm.
Only as they might catch on the coilovers when you lower the car.
Other than that I reckon you'd be fine.
And you'd only need a mild bit of stretch to get them tucked underneath.

The plastic ones aren't that durable.
Check your spigots, then balancing, then warps/buckles.
My money's on the balancing though.

That's fantastic mate!
Great job, and an equally good write up.
Looking at doing this to my B5.5, along with a USB port.
I did a USB blanking plate on my old E36 which came out quite well, however this looks pro.
Kudos again mate!

I cranked 50ish miles out of mine after the yellow fuel light had come on.
The Matrix display was showing a confident 5 miles left of fuel. I didn't wanna risk it so filled up.
These things run on nothing-ness. God I love my TDI Ssat!

I'm pretty sure it's also in the MK5 ED30.
From what I've read, you'll need a decent remap to make it worth it.

I'm pretty sure all B5.5 TDI Sport version have rain sensing wipers.
Mine does and a couple others I went to look at did too (and mine is an early 51 plate version).
To check if they work try this...
1] Switch your wiper up one notch to where 'intermittant' would be.
2] This should give one wipe ...

Looks tidy, but not fantastic.
Due to mileage and age, I'd say anywhere up to £1500.
Any more than that and I'd be expecting a higher spec on that mileage.
Or alternatively, less mileage on the same spec.

I personally think mirrors should be colour-coded to get the best effect.
It does make them look a bit cheap.
Grab a couple cans of paint from Halfords and colour code them.
If it comes out poo, then matte black them. At least that way you tried.

Depending on the wheels, you'll need longer bolts with a different seating and width.
VW use M14 width bolts nowadays (they used to use M12 on the older 4x100 cars).
BMW for example use M12 bolts.
This is the width of the bolt thread, VW bolts will be too wide for a BMW and BMW bolts won't bite ...

If you plan on putting a double-din unit in the car, then opt for the one with 3 din slots.
It can be a pain in the bum to modify the other dash unit cutting + pipes in the way).
But don't compromise the rest of the quality of the car over it only having 2 din slots and a cubby hole.
