Well thats it for me and the passat.. new vehicle here.. VW Caddy van 1.9tdi which will soon under go somechoice mods.

The car is up for sale, and will soon be on pistonheads etc etc.


Still love the car and its been the longest I have kept a car... sad to see it go

fully rebush the front end.. maybe use polly's. After so long then all go soft etc and need redoing. sharpened mine up no end. also did top mounts. new front end arm and bush kit can be bought from as little as 130.

if they have been blocked its worth pulling back the carpet in the passenger foot well to check behind even if there is no wetness in the carpet..

came to the car this morning only to find a little water in the servo.. quick 20min job to unblock the plenum drains and good to go for another year...

Don't risk it :)

so... I have never been 100% happy with the ride with the AP's fitted a year and a half ago.. the car always seemed to see-saw, which I put down to being a longer car than I am used too. Recently it seemed to be a little more bouncy so deicide to check over the struts. They can never have been right...

deffo do the full lot... when i first got mine i did a full arm and bush change with polly bushes too. nice and tight up front now.

does sound like the oil seals are on there way out.. the centre can be steady as you like. Needs a basic recon. Should be toooo much. Other than that i got a 200 turbo off ebay and once set correctly it has been bob on.

you will need vagcom or a fault code clearing device to rid the airbag light.

It can be great.. also i have a revo map done by the boys at head office, and my economy wnet up again by about 5mpg. Which was also seen in my LPG mpg
