Re: not starting
i checked the timing today, i checked the tdc on the crank, and both seem to be okay with the camshaft notch horizontal and 1st lobes pointing upwards and that was for both notches on the flywheel, which i thought was odd but must only be 1 or 2 teeth between. is this correct? trouble is it won't st...

Re: not starting
right so i got it started today, but by god did it sound rough lol sort of a grinding noise, i checked the timing, and it still looks spot on, i rotated it by hand and it felt fine, the compression stroke is obviously the hardest to turn on anyway? even when it wasn't starting because of the fuel si...

does the diesel lines need priming after having them disconnected from the injectors? or is it simply checking the tdc marks again?

Re: strange heater and temp gauge issue
update: Car now using more water, i checked the water pump today by removing it, no sign of damage. I tried removing the small pipe when it got to 90c and it spurts water out in a rhythm like to the compression stroke, it seems to slow down at 2000rpm when i would of thought it would get faster and ...

Re: strange heater and temp gauge issue
so not just up to temperature 90° but when the fan comes on?
to be honest i have never heard the fan come on, and it never goes above 90° so can the water pump be knackered if it never overheats?

Re: strange heater and temp gauge issue
Hi Karl, well it spurts out all the time if i put the pipe lower than the tank and that's without revving it, but i suppose it would?
pipe 23 on your diagram is different to mine, mine joins to a bigger pipe underneath it
