Re: 2.0 tdi recall work problems

You cant bend a conrod changing injectors, nor would the flywheel suddenly cause problems.

Its simple, get the injectors changed again with a new loom FOC and see what happens, it could be nothing more than a faulty connection in the loom, or a peeky injector.

VW book it at a touch under 3 hours for a BKP engine.

As for how hard, that depends if you have the tools and expertise to do it.

Re: Passat estate b6 dog guard

I need one for mine too, i'd quite like the centre divider too so the dog gets one side and the luggage and poo get the other half!

Are the VW ones the best ones to have or are alternatives any good?

Re: B6 Cam Belt replacement

Well, whilst its recommended in the community VW dont actually recommend it themselves, or include it in the cambelt service - its an extra. The reason mine wasnt done is VW sent the wrong part, so there wasnt a pump available and I had to have the car to get home which is impossible without my car....

Re: dual mass flywheel to solid flywheel.

Lumpy/rough idle, more rattley & noisey.

The DMF does a lot to even out the running of an engine making it smooth and easier to drive, it makes gear changes smoother and less abrupt and clunky too.

Obviously cheap up north! My local garage who look after all my vehicles just did mine last week for £325 inc VAT but there was no waterpump changed and I did have a full brake fluid change for that money too.

235/45/17's £127 fitted at kwik fit holy poo, is that for ONE? your pitting them up against ultra high performance tyres from all makes at that price, they better be better than good, my beloved T1r's are around £90 each (for a 16") & I reckon I'd been running them at too low psi to get ...

Re: Anyone have the VW estate roof bars?

I've not got either actually, but I have a superb set of Aero bars made by mont blanc. They were cheaper than the alternatives and are just as good, if not better in my opinion. Fixing is quick and secure, the bars are good and strong and carry my kayak + other stuff without problems. They extend ou...

VW might have the right one, they have some available, they also keep a complete set on site at every dealership so you could get them removed and then buy a new set with key or put in plain bolts instead.

Re: BKP Engine - OIL PUMP KIT?/How to..

I would suggest you just stop fussing about someting that might or might not fail, you could be worried for a very long time otherwise as your engine might throw its crankshaft out the block, or the cam belt might break, or the alternator could sieze etc. the list of possibles is endless!!!

Re: Tyres

That is the actual reason for it being caused, its not actually a tracking issue - in fact if you think about it tracking cannot cause it. The reason I gave above came from Pirelli themselves, they were the OE tyres suppliers to VW too - if you dont believe me then ring and ask them. This is also wh...

Saw tooth only happens on the rear due to the back end skipping along when not loaded to capacity. The front doesnt suffer as it has the engine up there.

At the moment any MOT station cannot fail your car for fitting after market HID lamps within the obligatory headlamps. Be aware that this is changing with effect from the 31 march 2012, from this date it will become a failure item that your VW dealership will take great delight in telling you. Howe...

Depends on your mileage. Premium tyres cost more, but they grip better and last longer.

Continental, Dunlop, Pirelli, Michelin all premium brands but in that size shouldnt cost the earth and will keep you safe whilst lasting well.

I cant seem to find any for the B6.

Most common appear to be the EBC pads where there are the ultimax, green or red pads to chose from.
