Cheers

PD130 fuel filter changed and not starting

I changed the filter this morning, Fired her up and she idled fine for about 30 seconds then stalled, now she's refusing to start.

I'm guessing there is a load of air in the injectors etc now :( Is there a way to bleed it or is it a case of keep trying to crank every half hour?
I've released all ...

Re: B5.5 PD 100bhp misfire under accleration, advice needed!

My PD130 had the ESP faul and EML turn up with Injector 1 going missing etc. A quick reset and all was happy.
Then we noticed if the air temp was between 3 and 10 degC the damn thing would missfire under moderate load (feels like clutch slip but I know its not).

Replaced the In Head Harness and the ...

Por MPG and possibly related fuel temp sensor fault.

When we had the october heatwave, after a period of idling stationary P1163 Fuel temp sensor - Open or Short to Plus occured.
I reset it with VCDS and the fault hasnt reappeared, nor has the sensor reading been iffy looking.

I've also noticed the long term average and also short average dropping by ...

Re: 'check brake pads' along with an Odd pedal...

Changed the front pads, feels better but the pedal still drops after getting initial pressure up.

Cretins who serviced it last topped the brake fluid up, so when pushing the pistons back the reservoir massively overflowed grrr.

Anyhooo, With the engine off the pedal is rock hard and wont drop ...

'check brake pads' along with an Odd pedal...

Got the check pads light coming up on the dash (B5.5 PD130 wagon). The brakes dont feel as great at they did when we got the car, so I have picked up new pads ready to change them tomorrow. Thing is the pedal feels funny, in that pressing it stops the car , but if you come to a stop you can press ...

Sprung a leak fron 1/4 the way up on the drivers side... not from the end cap/corners.

Still a very easy job and didnt put the front end in 'service' position either :)

pd130 coolant loss

Since weve had the pd130 b5.5 estate its always dropped a little coolant when in use (no loss when standing). Always kept topped up aside from recently when I've not looked at it since November.

Anyhooo, today I get the "STOP check coolant" (or equivalent) message on the dash. No coolant in the ...

Keeping a wagon demisted?

As the weather has moved towards the car getting misted up, what settings are 'ideal' on the climate (single zone) unit on a 5.5?

PD130 bit rough/flat when cold...?

Hey,

As its got colder I've noticed the damn PD130 wagon is a bit rough/flat when the ambient temp is 10deg or less.

I wait for the GPL to go out before start etc but nothing changes till the engine warms up and all is perky again.

My thoughts are a screwy CTS or iffy glow plugs (it does white ...

Re: fitting a USB socket

You could get one of those 12V to USB adaptors that plug into the cigarette lighter and 'mod' the wiring so you can attach it to the cables inside the dash and then use a USB etension cable to hook it upto a blanked switch plate, then hide everything else inside the dash.

I'll have a look into the ...

Hi we got our B5.5 a month ago and didnt get the Audio manual with it.

I think I've mastered 'most' of the functionality but having a manual would be handy to see what other bits we can use (aside from the TMC of course lol)
