Re: Coilovers
TA Technics are on mine and have been for 3 years. Its decked and i use it hard. No issues what so ever. Fronts are a normal coilover setup and the rears are a shock and separate spring with an adjustable platform that sits below the spring to adjust the height to suit.

Re: engine covers- what paint?
Panel wipe or white spirit Good key (green scotchbrite pads are good for this) Plastic primer Then ive used normal colour matched paint that you would paint exterior parts with (Fjordblau and Tornado red in this case) and ive used a Fiat colour in the 2nd pic on a Golf TDi Then i swear by 3 coats of...

That is a beautiful car. The wheels and stance are both stunning, also the roof is amazing. I'll save this as the wallpaper on my desktop right now!

Halfords stuff is brilliant. Its bright yellow so may alter your final colour a bit but once wet flatted back hides all manner of sins!

Re: Engine Fault Garage every day only from Cold
Possible engine management temperature sensor. Looking at the live data for most of these when they go they will be trying to read minus 46 degrees and throw up a warning as they cant talk back to the ECU correctly and fuel accordingly. When they warm up a few degrees (revs below 2000 for a short jo...

Remove it, have it deleted from the system and then re-map to suit. Daft EU regulation on emissions that do not translate in the real world. Same as exhaust decibel regulations regulated by vacuum adjusted valves (see R32 Golfs and M-Sport BMW's etc)

Re: What does this mean?
Could be any number of things. The engine management light will log a code in the system ready to be read by a garage of knowledgeable mate of your choosing. If the light disappears and the vehicle appears fine then hopefully it will still log a code to start the technician off looking in the right ...

2000 wet and dry soaked in warm water and a little fairy liquid and then (believe it or not) toothpaste. Its a mild abrasive that doesnt break down with heat or pressure.

Back again! 20VT Sport Wagon
Been away for a while and although the Wagon hasn't undergone many changes I've started up a sideline of vehicle valeting and my good friends over at 6two1.com were kind enough to do me a promo photo shoot after i gave their DC5 Integra some much needed work aswell as dub-it.co.uk giving me a few pi...

How many posts? Really? Jack it up and secure it. Get under it. Drain a bit. Top it up if youve taken too much out. Get back to enjoying youre weekend etc... If you dont fancy doing that or moving the car at all (not that a small jouney will matter if only a small way over the level) then call a mob...

Re: Coilover fitting
Fitted mine without taking and arms or sheer bolts off. In the engine bay there are 2 body coloured grommets either side of the top strut mounts, prise these off and loosten the 13mm bolts underneath. Remove the lower shock bolt and comletely remove the top 13mm nuts. You can then lean on the bottm ...

I dont ever regret selling a car as such as i tend to sell them when im completely satisfied im done with them and its time for a new project. I just regret selling them to complete idiots. I sold this (yes its an Almera) after 2.5 years. http://i109.photobucket.com/albums/n74/Damo-Sri/DSC03258.jpg ...

Re: B5 CV Joint anyone used these?
I sell Just Boots CV joints via my work and the regular trade price to "Fred in a shed" is about £25 and they're good quality (I'm running one on my o/s/f) so it's possible to get them as cheap as the eBay ones if they sell enough volume. Auto ones are different from memory. As are 130hp ...

Re: just a quick advice question oil change thanks
Nice and easy to do mate but for gods sake don't put quantum in it. It has a trade price of £1 a litre for a reason. It was only ever intended for use in VW workshops as a cheap alternative for non long life service intervals and won't be suitable for PD applications.
