recent problems with limp mode

It seems to be a regular problem on the forum, cars going into limp mode. The dreaded limp mode has struck me of late, and I have been through the lot as regards fixes.I hoped it was cured recently when advice was given to a forum member by the ever informative desertstorm, however,it was not to be.A lo...

Just a thanks to desertstorm, your advice to messr about the vnt actuator may have pinpointed my own problem. My actuator wasn't moving at all,so I removed the pipe to n75,put a peice of pipe on the actuator and sucked, every thing moved easily,so I'll be changing the n75 tomorrow.Otimistic thanks lad :D

Re: turbo pipes

The n75 valve is at the front of the engine.Take off the pipe from the air box to the turbo, and in front of the ball shaped vacuum reservoir, you will see where the vacuum pipes come together in the n75 valve. It is held on by 2 10mm nuts.

Sounds like some of the fun I've been having with my vacuum pipes and I would think that your broken connector must be the problem,I hope so,good luck. :D

Re: vacuum pipes

Thanks for the reply rodnay,I know it defies logic and that's why it is so puzzling.I have tried new 3mm silicon onto the only junction as yet disconnected, lovely tight fit,but no joy though it has settled down somewhat.I'll get there in the end.Cheers,Rod.

vacuum pipes

Recently,I asked for some help with a fault code that came up showing an N75 fault. The main advice was to check vacuum pipes, and I did.As nothing was obviously amiss,I decided to do what a few of the lads on the forum have done, and bought pipe to change them all.In the meantime the intermittant goin...

BOOST LOSS

I've just had a job done on the 130 estate, and whilst he was here I told him of an intermittant problem.Occasionally,at about 3000rpm in 3rd or 4th,it goes into limp mode, turn the ignition off and on and all is ok.There is no pattern to this, and sometimes it's days in between. He put his tool in it,a...

Re: Estate Spoiler B5.5

My recent purchase has a tailgate spoiler fitted, which I quite liked, that was until I read this, now I'm not so sure. The om one is neat, but the one I have is like the votex,I guess they're both ok,maybe the price will always be the deciding factor.Maybe the neat om fitting with a slightly longer spoi...

Re: Standard B5.5 Sport suspension and non-standard wheels p

I have s-line 17's on my sport estate, and while they don't look bad, they looked better on my previous which was -40mm.Like you,I don't want the impracticality of a lowered car again, but, I don't know :-?

Re: WATER LEAKING DRIVERS PASSANGER SIDE!!

That's a hell of a leak,I would start at the highest possible entry point, and work my way down, you will find the entry point. If you can't see any ingress, then start to look under the carpet,I'm sure there will be a thread on here about removing trim. With a little care you can do it,then, when you fin...

Re: lowered suspension

Shouldn't really be any problems with rear tyre wear unless the rear axle alignment is out because of accident damage or the bushes are worn. You can usually tell if the alignments out because the edges of the tread are feathered. Karl. Interesting you should say that Karl,we were rear ended in Jan...

There should not be any movementas you describe, check the 13mm bolts holding the caliper to the carrier, better still, remove and replace them :0

lowered suspension

On my last estate,I fitted Koni shocks and springs -40mm.I liked the look and the ride was fine, but the rear tyre wear,FFS!!!I'm undecided wether to swap it onto my recent sport estate, but if that tyre wear is normal,I'll give it a body swerve and stick with the standard sport suspension.Any views m...

[Yes,I disconnected the bottom and top hoses, the bottom at the sensor point, connected a hose pipe to the hot water and ran it through for a while, and whilst there is a greyish look to the coolant,it has cleared.A friend of mine with a garage said it can take months.Good luck,Rod. :esm

On my recent purchase, there is a random fast clicking of the indicators,no lights or indicators are showing and the speed of the clicking is about twice the normal speed.Anybody had this problem? Thanks,Rod.

Oil in water

Just a quick line to say that my oily water problem of which I recently spoke has been sorted.Following a post that encouraged me to persevere with the flushing,I did just that, and it has cleared,so many thanks.Rod.
