Re: My headlight clean up....
If anyone lives around the Manchester area, and is having difficulty with cleaning up their lenses,I have the polisher and am not averse to helping any decent bloke out, after being in bodyshops for 40 years,I have a bit of kit available.Give me a pm if you're stuck.Rod.

Carefully check, one by one,the hard black plastic vacuum pipes, from one end to the other.I had the same problem, drove me mad,and eventually traced it to vacuum pipes, but look and feel very thoroughly,it could save your sanity. ![Happy :)](./images/smilies/1.gif)

Re: Harsh judder and loss of power!? TDi 130 PD
I just changed mine last week. You will have more room to move if you take off the pipe to the intercooler round the back of the head.Take off the rocker cover, and you will see the loom on the right hand side of the cylinder head.Disconnect the four plugs from the injectors, and unscrew the connector ...

If the rear wiper has the same problem as my last one, just remove it,open it and wash it out with a degreaser, grease, reassemble, and hopefully that will be it.All the origional grease had gone solid. There was nothing complicated about it. ![Big Grin :D](./images/smilies/4.gif)

Re: help vacuum hose missing
When you say it goes into the airbox,is that at the back or the front?Your n75 valve has three outlets,a 4mm to the airbox, and two 3mm,one to the turbo actuator, and one to a joint with the vacuum reservoir.

Re: tappets
That quantum is the oil I intended to buy.I noticed in TPS they had a chart, and the platinum was the one with the strongest recommendation from vw.It's around 70 quid for a drum,so I'll do another change next weekend and see how the top end reacts before I make any moves.Cheers Rod.

It's one or two that have an irritating loud tick.I did my first oil change on this car yesterday, and put in gtx high mileage.shortly I will be putting in platinum mineral oil from TPS.The oil filter cap was almost welded on,so I'm assuming the oil hasn't been changed regularly. The tappets did quiet...

I am going to clean the vanes.Interesting you should mention town driving and low revs,my previous car had 198k on the clock, most of it fast motorway, and that was the origional turbo.Incidentally, the spindle on this turbo has no discernable movement at all,so,I'll take the advice and keep you posted...
