thanks again mate, managed to pop into A.P.D, the tall chap with specs (owner i think?) came out straight away with his laptop and 5 minutes later job done, i now have fully working central locking ... really nice guy shall deffo use him more often as hes near aswell ... :mrgreen:

our recently bought b5 tdi returns around 50mpg all the time... as for insurance try tescos mate, the wifes insurance is £340 fully comp, all the other places we tried money supermarket, go compare etc wanted £500+

thanks chris, so the 2 button i have could be suitable, just need a local ish member to step up with vagcom or what ever is needed to reprogramme the key, can i buy any 2 button key and get that rebladed to suit my car then programmed ??

any of you local guys have access to vagcom? i need my central locking looked at and believe vagcom will be a good start? can travel and give some beer tokens for any help ... :D

cheers madocks, have tried that aswell and to no avail, i think my key blade is the correct 1 but the key fob is a 2 button with and audi logo on the rear, so think ill need to find a correct fob etc and then get it programmed to the car...being a 2000 model will it be a 2 button or the 3 button st...

central locking advice needed please

hi all, after selling a 4x4 truck we had, we managed to find a tdi passat which ticked all the boxs, lovely car great mpg. i have a problem though, the central locking key fob isnt working, i have replaced the batteries today and still nothing, is there a procedure to resynq the fob? many thanks al

all sorted a plug was loose in the dash clocks as soon as i touched the plug the dash lights returned .. and it starts

as above need to take the clocks out and rather than try blind is there a guide ?? have been looking to no avail??

what a night went out for a little mooch about and stopped in a garage to get a drink, when i came out i unlocked the car got in and went to start her up..... it cranked for ages which i thought was odd to which i then noticed i had no dash lights ??? called the aa and thhe chap has tested all fuse...

i use g3 mate ....its a cutting compound that i used with my machine polisher.... have to be really carefull of to much heat being gennerated by keeping the lense wet.... once done i keep mine waxed to retain the shine along with repel other contaminates sticking to the lense, if they are really ba...

they`ll go straight on mate, 1/2 " is nowt to worry about rim width wise, the only difference is the tread width by 10mm which is again nowt to be concerned about ...

welcome along mate, you sure 37mpg from a diesel is correct on a run ?? id of thought it would be in the 40`s atleast as my v6 petrol is low 30`s... (could be higher but i like to play a bit ) :cool:
