There is a plastic screw holding the light in place accessed through a removable panel in the boot. Easy enough to do.
For the vent panel the bumper skin has to be removed, various screws removed, bumper unclipped in various places and off it comes. Just the sensor wiring plug to disconnect.

Re: Rear outer light cluster removal
No sunroof.
I've found the culprit - damaged air vent breather in the side of the boot compartment, probably damaged by the nice chap who removed the bumper to fit the towbar.
Trying to find the part number for this is proving a headache.

Rear outer light cluster and rear bumper removal
Hello all,
I've got a leak somewhere around the rear outer light cluster and it's running into the boot floor.
Anyone know how to get access to the rear of the cluster through the carpeted panels? I'm assuming the cluster is removed from inside but how?
Thanks for any help.
Dave

Re: OBD Eleven dongle
I did the throttle mod a few weeks back and yes it did make a difference on my 2016 DSG Alltrack, no issues so far. Used the instructions as above without any drama.
I've got used to it now and need another pick me up - remap me thinks.

See photos attached, you can see where the plastic has broken off the inside of the grab handle and the cover.

Re: Tailgate trim removal - drain hose
The end of the pipe had deteriorated to the point it no longer held itself in the hole in the bottom of the tailgate. I'd read some horror stories about rusty tailgates due to water not passing out of the tailgate.

Re: Tailgate trim removal - drain hose
Got this done yesterday, fairly straight forward but you will break the plastic grab handle cover getting it off, it does clip back on though. As for changing the drain hose again simple once you've cut the new one to the correct length. When re-attaching the trim panel make sure the metal clips are...

Re: Tailgate trim removal - drain hose
Found a you tube clip showing how to do it, of course it goes perfectly but doesn't show refitting which can be a pain so any pointers appreciated.

Tailgate trim removal - drain hose
Bought myself a replacement drain hose for the tailgate, any clues as to how the tailgate plastic trim is removed? I did a search but nothing came up for the B8. They're usually clipped on with maybe some additional screws, thanks for any help.

Re: Water in spare wheel well
Had the wife use a hose pipe on the rear of the car whilst I sat in the boot watching for leaks. After various tests it turns out that the water is coming in around the passenger tail light. With the tailgate open a watering can was used to gently wet the tail light, took about 30 seconds for the wa...

Re: Water in spare wheel well
Hi all, Don't suppose you guys found the cause of this? My 2016 estate wheel well has just this last couple of weeks filled with water. I've dried it out and later on noticed a slight wet patch near the passenger side near the cubby hole. Not cleared out the cubby hole yet to check, will do that tom...

Re: B8 Passat Estate 190 & 240 Bitdi advice
I have the Passat Alltrack 190 DSG and use this for towing having previously had a 2011 Tiguan. The Tiguan did indeed tow our 1450kg van very well but I'd say the Passat is easily just as good if not slightly better and I haven't experienced any drifting on the motorway as someone has suggested. Ma...

No FM signal
My infotainment system shows no signal for the FM radio and also a scan of the ecu also reports back a fault with the FM connection. I normally use DAB so I only noticed this as my traffic reports were showing no TMC channel which I know gets its reports from the FM frequency. Now I believe this hap...

I cut out just enough to get the plug in. I have a wifi adapter that has a bigger body to it and that only just goes in while still rubbing on the sides of the trim.

Re: OBD Port Accessibility
You are quite right, you need to remove a good amount of plastic, here's my weekend effort with the Dremel. Only took about half hour plus cleaning up time.
You have to remove a large chunk of the leading edge and also an area at the back that protrudes slighly, ok it isn't pretty but it's hidden.

Re: OBD Port Accessibility
Thanks for the photos and explanation. Had time to check mine yesterday, the port was clipped in correctly. You can clearly see the port is angled, see the photo with my Ross-Tech adapter plugged in to the point where it contacts the trim on the front side, there's no way it will push in. I have fou...

How does it compare to the xc60?
Before buying my Alltrack a couple of months ago my other option was the xc60.

OBD Port Accessibility
Hi all, Anyone have trouble plugging in an OBD reader? I have a wireless adapter and also a full VCDS adapter, problem is the plastic surrounding the port is too tight against the socket so it won't physically fit without removing the OBD port which of course is a pain in the butt. I have considered...

It came with a detachable towbar fitted but only 7 pin electrics, I've had full 13 pin fitted now.
I don't see many B8 Alltracks, I see more B7 Alltracks.

Yes it does look about right, thanks for that.
Here's mine, not the best shot as it's at my storage location and the ground wasn't perfectly flat or level.
