Re: Can i do an oil change myself?
Yeh you can, stay safe use axle stands, the oil filters a bit tricky to get out. I got a strap type filter remover from Motorworld I'm sure halfords will have one aswell, just used a ratchet to get it off. As one of the lads said take the car for a run or let it idle to warm the oil, then park up a...

Re: Can i do an oil change myself?
No problem to do yourself, but always use ramps or axle stands, never work under a car only supported by a jack, if you don't have ramps or stands jack the car up and place blocks under the wheels, you only need it raised a few inches to get at the cover.

Re: Soon to be Passat owner.
I've got a B5.5 1.8T and i'd love a W8 but they are very expensive to buy and run, i'd probably go with the B5 1.8T and with the thousands saved mod it, ie: remap, exhaust, wheels coilovers etc etc.

Re: Another 'best' tyre query!
Just got Bridgestone Turanzas at £58 each which was cheaper than some budgets lol, roadholdings good wet and dry, and low road noise, obviously can't comment on wear, they have eliminated a slight vagueness in the steering i had with conti sports although they were over half worn.
