Re: Differences between passat and bora, not just the looks
isint the Bora a Golf with a bit added on at the rear? :hyst I know the interior is different over the Golf ( the dash looks nicer ) but we had a mk4 golf estate for nearly 2 years and I couldn't say a bad word against it ( apart from there a pig to do a timing belt on compared to a passat ) but dri...

gather its a bulb, code scan would be interesting, from what i remember it will pass the mot as it is Nope. If airbags are fitted the light must come on then go off after a successful self-test. Sounds like someone "might" have removed the bulb because it was on all the time. You'd have t...

Dont belive what it says on your mpg computer. I have managed max 63 mpg going to staffordshire and back (95%) motorway at a constant 70-80mph which is filling then refilling. I wasent tickling the pedal often as well as i often put my foot to the floor when accelorating to get to the speed quickly...

Re: AFN engine into 02 plate b5.5 passat?

I love my AFN :) ) after a full service new thermostat and temp sender im getting 40.1 mpg on a run and around 35 mpg around the doors my old 110 used to get 55 mpg around the d...

Re: AFN engine into 02 plate b5.5 passat?
You could technically do it but you will have all sorts of warning lights on the dash and you will need to re wire the front end of the car. You better off looking at a tidy b5 late model with the AVG engine (similar engine just some minor difference to AFN) and keep that for a while. I had a late ...

Re: What's your mpg??
Today i took my AFN on a decent run up to drayton manor (only 60 odd mile round trip but more than my usual daily 8 mile trip) and on the way there my mfa read 71mpg ave. and 67 on way back! i know the mfa isn't 100% accurate, but its impressive nonetheless I changed my thermostat the other day too...

Re: What's your mpg??
Not sure of exact figures but both the 110 BHP AFN passats ive had have pulled great even with a trailer hitched on to the back.
I would say Ive not noticed much difference in the way they pull between my 110 and my 130 if anything I would say my 110 has more torque lower down than my 130
