Thanks for the responses. I was wondering if it needs flushing again and more thoroughly. Not sure if that's something I can do as a DIY?
I'm worried there if there is still some silica left in the system and so with the new matrix it'll just slowly block that one also.

Thanks for your response. Both the expansion tank and matrix have been replaced and the system fully drained, flushed and refilled. I have done the flap reset many times to no avail. I keep wondering if there is an issue with the flaps, physically had my head down at the drivers side and can see it ...

I just had mine changed after a service at VW auditec in Chelmsford and they spotted the silica bag had split in the coolant. Makes sense as I had next to no heating for a couple of months.
If you're planning on changing it you should check whether you have a Denso or Valeo type.
