Its the fob type key without the blade. Ive been through a few rituals with it but still nothing.

Is there any instructions anywhere online to do a key re-sync on a 2012 Passat? Changed the battery on the main fob and it has stopped working. The spare works fine. I tried putting the old battery back in thinking I had a duff new one but still no joy. I do have a VCDS if that will be needed. G.

Hi Mel. Looking under the car it looks like there is no switch as such. As you say it must be the epb control module that is playing up. When it works, it works well on both calipers. When it doesnt, its the same on both calipers. I will get another one and see what happens. Thanks for the info. G.

When you sometimes use the button and the light comes on, the handbrake works. Its very intermittant. Took the button out and tested it and found it to be ok. I thought a fault light would have showed up on the reader but no.

Its the handbrake not coming on thats the problem. No fault codes identified and Im stuck as to what to look at first. Just when you need it, it stops working. Im having to leave it on the flat with the thing in gear to stop it rolling away.

Just a quick update. Euro car parts have mine on back order as they are a good seller and cant get stock quick enough. I should have them in about 10 days time or whenever the boat sails in from China!

So they are. Just ordered as they are not a stock item. Will let you know how I get on with them later.

Think I will try the Philips X-treme Vision +130% as Euro car parts have them for less than £18 a pair.

Im looking to upgrade the standard bulbs in the main and dipped headlights. Any suggestions for a good set of bulbs and are they H7 or H4 types. I find that they are fairly poor in standard form and need something a lot better. Gordon T.
