I am going to order a new pipe and fit then get the code erased hopefully that will resolve the issue.

I know people say you get better MPG if you blank it etc but i just want it all standard.

Just driving home from work and the engine management light came on with the message emissions workshop.
Anyone know what the issue could be.

The light is not flashing and the car drives fine.

I have unplugged the siren for the alarm so now when it goes off all I get is the indicators flashing.

Microswitch is mounted on the lock mechanism of the bonnet catch, you can see the wire coming off the lock mechanism. Indicators flashing when you lock/unlock the car is configureable and can be turned on and off with VAG-COM if you have the full version. have you checked for water around the battery, the alarm siren is next to the battery and water can get in there and cause issues. The microswitch on the bonnet ...

Will give that a go when i'm at the car next and see if that triggers of the alarm.

sometimes it works where the indicators come on but i can remember if i have had the boot, all doors and bonnet open so not sure which one it is

it seems to me that the car thinks there is something open hence the indicators not flashing etc but suppose wont know till i get it checked out.

Car is bone dry had it all checked out by Prestige German Cars in North Shields.

I am either in Darlington or South Shields as i travel between the two places.
