Yes there is quite a bit of work involved in replacing it but nothing that can't be done on front of house. I don't think rads need to come out. I took a picture of the area, this bit that’s cracked seems to go up the side of the radiator and along the front for the under tray to slot into

The front of my undertray keep coming out and hanging down, there is a part at the front all cracked that is not part of the main undertray? the undertray slots into the broken piece, so it seems there are 3 pieces to this, the lower lip that is fixed to the bumper here https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/26...

Yes it is possible. Leave one top bolt in until you have the bottom of the strut swung into the removal position. Turn the steering full towards the corner you are removing. Great thanks for that, I watched one guy one youtube he even removed the wipers along with the brake caliper? cheers Ronnie

I wondered if it was possible to remove the front strut without removing the driveshaft and splitting the bottom ball joint? if the spring could be compressed in situ allowing enough space to remove it? I believe the driveshaft has a stretch bolt that would need replaced?

Thanks, yes I did that with my old vectra years ago, it's just LED tech has come a long way but the market is a minefield lol

My headlights on 2014 are not great! I see loads of H7 LED upgrades in all shapes and sizes, has anyone done this with good results? If so what did you use?

This is a bit strange! 2014 passat estate, when tha car is say in a higher gear at lower revs a strange runbling sound from the steering shroud, sound a bit like loose change rattling in a tray! And yes I checked the storage cubby but it's not that, anyone have any ideas?

Hi. It’s just plastic chrome plated/covered. I’ve replaced the passenger side one, can be done with a flat bladed screw driver from inside the bumper. And they’re NOT cheap! Thanks for that, mine are worst at the doors, so guessing it's a metal lengh rather than a roll of plastic sticky back stuff?

The chrome trim around the bottom of the car has become tarnished and dull! Not sure if this is just the plastic chrome sticky backed stuff or steel trim? Has anyone replaced it and know what would work etc?

Next dilema! The ecu was in stock on the computer but when VW went to order it was on back order! Not sure what that will mean? Will it need to come from Germany?

That does not bode well! Howver I see many advertised that have covered over 250k miles and still going, surely that label would fall into all the vag group of cars? Unless passat is the only car with ecm exposed to the elements?

Just had an update from AC manager! VW have reported a faulty ECM, replacement cost £1100 plus labor! I was asked if I wanted it repaired ( at their expense) and I said yes, I like the car and if the fault is fixed then I'm happy, having googled it the faults do reflect ECM failure cutting out etc.....
