Re: Deadlock stuck on.

Good to hear it is fixed. I have learned from this and from now on will be using the key in each of my locks every so often to ensure they do not seize. Count yourself lucky that your Lady values your well being more than a saving a few quid on a locksmith. Yeah, learning point to keep the manual l...

Re: Deadlock stuck on.

An end to the sorry tale! Firstly thanks to all those who provided advice and wisdom... The outcome... came home from a night shift to find the missus had made an executive decision and called out an automotive lock smith . It was simply a case of seized locks and once in , as Ray said , once amps f...

Re: Deadlock stuck on.

Starter motor cable is directly connected to battery's positive terminal clamp, so 12v attached to it must bring car back to life. Thanks for the additional info Ray, will get under there and give it a go. Fingers crossed! I'm assuming the mechanism for the bonnet release is the same as it was on m...

Re: Deadlock stuck on.

The same thing was with locking barrels on my passat, neither front door key was turning, they were seized due to lack of use. Thanks for the reply Ray, Guess that’s the problem with fobs....we all use the fobs as it’s easy etc . Note to self.... pay more attention to those lock barrels in future :...

Re: Deadlock stuck on.

The tailgate/boot should open regardless of key battery or car battery. Something weird is going on if it won’t. Note: You can turn the key both ways, and the position you leave it in will affect how it responds to central locking etc later incase you didn’t know. [emoji106] 54 Passat Wagon PD175 9...

Re: Deadlock stuck on.

Get under the car and add +12v (charger or another battery via jump leads) to started motor 12v terminal. Ground anywhere underneath where you see clean metal. Should unlock with remote again. Thanks for the info Ray, was wondering how to get amps into it....without having to break bits of the car ...

Deadlock stuck on.

Hello Folks, Not come across this fault in all my Passat owning years.... SWMBO’s trusty Passat fourmotion has been parked up for a while due to covid etc. Went out to try and resurrect it . Was on the list of things to do for a while.....Thought battery prob flat, no worries...worst case will just ...

Hello

Hello Folks, Just poking my head round the door to say hi! Run a couple of “Heritage” B5.5s TDIs( though one has just blotted its copy book big time and is severely testing my patience).... Lovely cars , great to drive... just wish they hadn’t been designed with that typical Teutonic over engineerin...
