Re: Looking for spare parts help please

I need to get a replacement for the drivers side storage compartment (below the ignition) but I have no idea what it is properly called and/or it's part number. Can anyone suggest how I might find out? I have no intention of paying to get it from a franchised dealer BTW! :???: Vw call it 'Tray' and...

Re: DMF part number needed

Currently the DSG DMF is listed at £200 less than the six speed manual DMF. I have no idea why. Perhaps you should contact a dealer to see if they can confirm pricing. Have you tried Euro car parts? They are usually pretty good.

if you have a problem get a vcds scan of engine measuring blocks. Cleaning the egr is a waste of time but it might make you feel better. :D

DMF for BMR/BUZ: 03G 105 266 CJ £560 from dealer. You need a clutch kit to go with it. It's a standard LUK part. Try Euro's or GSF for a cheaper price.

So really i need a laptop to change the front pads? If i'd of known that then i would of just took it to VW. Lowey. You don't need a laptop or vcds to change front pads. VCDS has nothing to do with it. On a B6 Passat you have one wire that makes a circuit through the front left pad. When the wire i...

You need to get a scan done to see what the engine ecu is reporting.

They are not all the same but clips are roughly 50p each, o-rings and clamps are about £5.00 each. Some companies specialise in o-rings and seals so they may be available cheaper elsewhere.

You can buy clips, o-rings and clamps from the dealer.

You mention a wet drive but this cars faults sound like it's been in a flood and some of the connectors/controllers got soaked/damaged.

Re: Need an electrical specialist Hampshire/Surrey

The autoscan is nonsense. Who ever did it should have cleared the faults and scanned again. If the car really had those faults it wouldn't start or run. My guess is many of them are left over from an attempt to start the car with a flat battery. Don't do anything until you have another scan. You wil...

Re: Engine management light on! Oh dear...

As it's a common rail engine the boost control valve/solenoid will have broken. It's a fairly cheap and easy fix. The epb fault is a coincidence. Clear it and see if it come back. If it does, fit a new switch.

Re: Engine Workshop! EML and Glow Plug Light

It's not a throttle actuator it's the anti-shudder valve. Cost about £350 from VW plus fitting. It can be bought cheaper from a motor factor. Make sure they check the fan fuse as this often blows at the same time.

Light on means you have an emissions related fault code stored so you have to run a fault code scan to find out what it is.

How hard is it to replace the engine speed sensor (g28) we have a 1.9tdi new shape 55reg ? In theory it's easy, in practice it may not be. Re: thinking of purchasing a 2006 1.9tdi se (any worries )

The injector problem is only for Pd 2.0 engines not 1.9's which use different injectors. B6 passats are expensive to run if they go wrong but so are many modern cars. Main problems are electric parking brake and steering column locks.

Re: Parking brake fault

Probably one of the motors is starting to fail. Stop using the epb and get a scan done. If you don't, you risk damaging the epb control module which is expensive. It could just be a failing switch which is a cheap and simple swap so you could try that first.
