Re: Air bag fault after fitting Xcarlink ipod

Light can only be reset with a fault code tool like VCDS (vag-com)

Re: Dead Battery - or is dead car?

Fault code will say injector wiring fault which really means failed injector.

Sounds like injector failure. Diesel waxing is almost unheard of these days.

Re: Cold Starting

The engine should be started as soon as the glow plug light goes out. That is the optimum time for start. Leaving them longer is worse. If the car doesn't start easily the plugs must have a fault. The most common one I find is people fitting the wrong glow plugs. Not only do they not work but they d...

Re: Help! Diesel engine stopped and wouldn't re-start

Injector failure on this model is fairly common and it does stop the engine. However, the injector rarely recovers for the engine to restart. A diagnostic check is the obvious place to start.

Re: B6 Key Fob

Be very careful of anyone who claims they can get you a new key and code it. It can be done but you need an expert.
Simplest is to go to VW but it is going to cost you alot of money as the keys are expensive.

Re: bluemotion

I cannot see any reason why you can't fit them. You just need a new light switch, two fogs and grills and some wire.
The wire them in and code them or wire in with a reay and don't code. I think I put a circuit diagram on vwaudiforum.

Vw clearly state that injector bolts are one time use only. Fitting new bolts is part of the setting up.

Which bush. The lower arm has two. One is in the arm, the other is in the carrier the arm mounts in to.

Re: b6 rear brake pad change

You can't change the rear pads without winding the motors back first. You need VCDS or similar to do that. The caliper pistons just push back. When the pads are in you need VCDS again to reset the motors. Get it wrong and the motors be broken.

Re: Electronic handbrake noise

Difficult to see how the epb could make a noise behind the dash. The button is on the dash but the controller is under the center consule near the gearstick. This type of noise does not occur with age, that is nonesense.

Re: Dead Car :(

Siemens pd injectors do not need calibrating to the engine. They just have to be correctly installed which means the injector "pump" clearance must be set accurately.

Re: 2.0 TDI Injector Upgrade

Did you set the injectors correctly as per VW instructions. They often run rough when first fitted, seems to be due to air in the fuel lines. This sorts it's self out usually. It is vital they are set up correctly or they will be damaged or the seals damaged.

Low spec models don't have heated jets. It's easy to find out, just look at the from the underside and see if each jet has two wires. If it does it is heated. Some cars have heated jets fitted but no wiring.
