Re: 2.0 TDi misfiring / stuttering
Most places just scan for fault codes. You need a complete engine measuring blocks scan that you can post. If the fuel filter was black and things improved when changed, change it again, It is easy diy and cheap. If things improve again, the tandem pump is probably causing your problem by leaking oi...

Re: b6 boot wont open
You will need a new lock. It's a common problem. You can try stripping and cleaning yours but it is probably easier to fit a new one.

Re: Interior lights
Never test fuses with a multimeter, too little current. Centrol electronics control module is under drivers side dash, above your knees. There is a relay on it that the interior lights run via. Fault is usually a blown fuse though.

Re: Interior lights
Check the fuses again. It is probably fuse 15 drivers side which feeds to the central electrics control unit.
Don't look at fuses, test them with a battery and a bulb.

Re: Faulty alarm on B6 56 estate
The reason for the alarm triggering will show up in a VCDS scan. It is usually a faulty door microswitch or faulty bonnet switch.

Re: VW Warning Messages NIGHTMARE!!!!!
You have to get a fault code read to see what code has been set. You use the code as a guide to find the fault. The codes don't usually tell you exacty what a fault is.

Re: Anyone bought VAG COM from ebay?
I bought my VCDS from ebay for around £60 and it works excellent! It has the most upto date software. It was NOT a cheap chinese copy it was a genuine copy that was made by someone who isnt as greedy as others who sell them for £300+ I am well for 'supporting' the people who can produce a product...

I doubt there would be any engine management issues. You will find out when you fit the aluminium one.

Re: b6 plastic inlet manifold with internal variable flaps
Got an aluminium one on my 2006(06) BKP - I know this 'cos I took it off today to clean it out! It shouldn't affect engine management - it's function is to close (for 3 secs) after the engine is switched off then open again & stay open(anti-run-on I believe). I don't think he means that flap. Y...

Re: B6 TDI reliability poll: 2005-2008.
Those are the prices for the injector and loom. Next you have to pay for someone to do the work. Usually comes in around £750 at a specialist inc parts. More at some dealers.

Looks like the price you have quoted is for the aluminium one. I think they are a straight swap but I can't guarantee that because I haven't tried.

If it's the basic model, the switch has a flexishaft sticking out the back to control the heater. They may be detached at the switch or the heater.

Re: Interesting one Help please
Unlike previous models, this engine can run using the signal from the engine speed sender (crank) or using the signal from the camshaft sensor. The best signal is the camshaft signal. If a wire is damaged or the cam sensor has failed, the car will run but give a fault code telling you the camshaft s...

Re: Auxiliary Heating
The ones I fitted plugged into the mains (240v) and were set on a timer in the garage to come on for an hour before starting the car. It does mean a power lead going to a connector on the car and you have to remember to disconnect it before driving off.

Re: vag code / flashing glow plug
Common problem. The flap sticks and the motor drive breaks. Often blows the fuse which also controls the radiator fan so your rad fan may not be working now.

Re: Auxiliary Heating
Auxillary heating shows in VCDS whether you have it or not. What code was next to it ? and what scan are you talking about. I have retrofitted the webasto type heaters. You normally plumb into the heater matrix pipes. Main problem is finding enough space for the pump/heater.
