Thanks for this tip. I'd not appreciated there was a silica bag in the coolant reservoir or that it could cause problems. Do you need to change to a different type of coolant fluid to compensate for the fact that the silica bag has been removed?

I'd suggest you check on the state of your DPF filter. If you have an android phone there is a great little app VAG DPF that connects via a Bluetooth ODB adapter to the sensors so you can check the level of ash in the DPF filter. It may need replacing or a good clean.
