Now looking at both the gearboxes i've got... it looks like the rubber boot on the slave cylinder damaged and was probably part of the issue, theres bits of it stuck over both bell housings... probably due to getting chewed through the clutch (see previous images of slave cylinder with bits of rubbe...

Cant be tight if it doesn't exist...

bloody PO! can't fit an extractor socket in there, tried one of those allen key removers... just span and didnt grip... gonna try heat and hammer the square bit in there... see if it grips! might even have to weld a bolt on... (great i'll have to buy a welder as mines in wales atm) anyone know what ...

omfg - why o why has someone managed to round off the bolts on my flywheel? waaaaahhhhy!? i just wanna put a new flywheel and clutch in and drive again

ordered a hnv gearbox with 65k they sent hnv gearbox with 96k

the company i ordered the gearbox from sent me a gearbox i didn't order! complained and got 50% back and 6 months warranty! bonus! so a gearbox delivered for £80 aint too bad!

Just bought the Sachs clutch/flywheel combo for £255odd from germany - ouch

2nd hand gearbox supposedly with 65k on it arrived today, £160 - everyone's getting coal for Xmas..

Did u get the flywheel done at the same time?

Don't forget to turn the kiddylock off... that's why mine wouldn't open from the inside, bowden cable fell off, had to take glass out to get it to open

HNV,JCX,LHW,LUB all have same output shaft

....drained the oil, big chunk of a gear came out... now I need another bloody triple star bit...

Does anyone know what gearbox codes are a straight swap? Researching there are a few gearboxes that share the same bell housing, but i beleive there are different size mainshaft sizes? I've tried to use the search engine on here but 3 letters (aka gearbox code) is excluded from the search as its too...

Think the gearbox is a HNV code... if thats any help and 22115 - so assuming its 22nd of nov 2005?

having rebuilt a landrover gearbox... and forgetting to drain it first - it had been a long day - covering my garage floor in oil and glitter as the bearing had been installed incorrectly (pressed in and ovalled, instead of heated and dropped in) it had worn through the layshaft and taken 1/2 inch o...

Ahh crapola, having a play with the gearbox tonight... somethings gone fubar inside... ....guessing its the idle shaft bearing... gonna rip it down anyway... can't get any more broken! Is it possible with to swap the whole front end of a b7 (wings/ bonnet/ bumper headlights etc) to fit the b6? i know alot of the interior is the same, just wondering if anyone has done a "facelift" ?

Well some tools turned up, still awaiting flywheel lock *unless anyone has a DIY way?

one of the arm/springs is missing... strangely i've not found it in the gearbox yet.. must be behind the flywheel?

edit: did a quick googles and it looks like its only meant to have 5 arms... odd

still waiting for the right socket to turn up.... do you think the pivot failing could be all that was wrong? i mean i'd like to think for under £50 it would be amazing fix
