Re: Juddering, poor running & emission warning lamp on

One thing i would suggest, my 1.8 20v N/A was doing a similar thing, rough idle, por performance, terrible MPG etc took it to a standard garage, they suggested the coil pack, so i changed it. Didn't make any difference, so i took it to a VW indy and they told me it was one of the injectors, about a ...

Re: eBay suspension arm kits

I just bought these the other day, arrived from Germany in 2 days which i was quite pleased about. I have heard all the warnings about the cheaper set but these have a 3 year warranty so i am more than happy to take the chance. Will let you know how they get on when fitted etc http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/...

Re: The saga continues.

Well i have now been reduced to pedestrian status. After 1 day with no issues, tried to leave work and the car died on me. Would not restart, no now it lives at work. Gonna have to get the garage out to pick it up and fix it. Thats right i have resigned myself to defeat.

Re: The saga continues.

Yeah i thought that at first but i heard that fault comes up after the battery has been disconnected regardless of any actual issues.
Though i hold my hands up and admit that i am definately no expert.

Re: The saga continues.

I have not fitted a new coolant sensor. Will check out the other two after work tomorrow. Looking into it on the net, seems like the throttle could well be the culprit. I will be so annoyed though if its something really simple like a fuse after all the hassle its putting me through. But hey, if you...

The saga continues.

Ok guys need to beg some wisdom off you please. My Passat has been misfiring and running really rough for the last week. Took it to garage, they suggested the coil pack but weren't sure. SO i ordered a coil pack and tried it on. No difference. So i ran it through VAG COM and heres what it spat out. ...

Re: service

If you get a Haynes manual, they have a full section at the front with different service interval procedures. But a basic service is generally, oil change, oil filter, sparks plugs, air filter, pollen filter, fuel filter. You may need a replacement sump bolt or washer also. After that though at cert...

Rough Price?

So i inherited this tesco ding, along with a slightly less devastating one on the other side when i bought the car. Anyone know if this would be cheaper to fix and spray or replace the panel and spray? Obviously it would not be me doing this

Re: OBDII?

Thanks for the reply. Also did some googling and it is an OBDII port. Its under the handbrake for peoples reference underneath the rubber pen holder that B5's have. Very easy access just need a slim bit of plastic or metal, like a knife etc to pop it out. Now to see about downloading VAG-COM and buy...

Spoken to VW and they are quoting £206 +VAT
The engine is an ADR type and its the coil pack with 2 boxes and 2 leads.
Anyone know where i can get one cheaper?
Thanks

Engine troubles, just started

Hey guys, just went out for a little blast in the Passat and after about 30-40 mins it developed a weird 'mis-firing' sort of problem. In the lower rev range it is spluttering, once over about 3k it seems fine, but anything under it is juddering and you can feel it trhoughout the car. Also took up t...
