Re: First Post - EPB issue :(
Just as an update to this for everyone else that may read it. I changed the rear motor, it appeared to be the same, obviously when removing the motor checked all the wiring which also seemed fine when tested with a multimeter etc. I went and bought an original parking brake switch from TPS and fitte...

Re: 2.0 litre diesel passat, 2006, engine management lamp
I currently have a similar issue, I have narrowed it down to going over 2,500rpm in 5th or 6th gear. It then goes into limp mode, 2 lights on dash but when you restart all is good again. I had some corrosion (green) on a connector to a sensor which I looked at. I think its the G31 sensor but I may b...

Re: First Post - EPB issue :(
I took the car to a local battery place and the battery and alternator are fine. I have spoke to VW again and they wont do anything without doing a diagnostic first at a cost of £80 plus VAT local VW 'Specialist' with mixed reviews on Google want £60 for the diagnostic. If I get a code reader with t...

Re: First Post - EPB issue :(
Thanks for the replies.
So what would you guys recommend? take it to VW and just put it down as a bad experience or would I be better off just taking it to a VW specialist garage?
Just unsure what to do now.

Re: First Post - EPB issue :(
The Switch I got was from Euro Car Parts at a cost of £36, I also put the old one back in and it was the same on both. Different garages seem to offer different advice. Some want to replace the caliper and motor after a diagnostic scan at £30-£60 depending on the garage. I am just reluctant to keep ...

Re: Rear Wiper
from what you have said, possibly try and look at the fuse for the rear wiper first. I have had this happen on another car. Could be the motor itself.
I am very new to these cars myself but I would start with those first.

First Post - EPB issue :(
Morning all and thank you in advance for any help. I have inherited a 56 plate Passat (B6 I believe) 2.0 TDI Sport I have had the car a month or so and the previous owner hadn't driven it for a while as the brakes felt spongy. When I drove it away there was a LOT of pedal travel before the brakes di...
