It's a good call but for say 8 caravan breaks a year it makes more sense to buy a car mainly for daily use that's ok for towing as opposed to a better car for towing that's less suitable for daily life. Ours is 1450kg so the 240 bitdi does have the weight advantage but either would be suitable. Do they recommend any cooling mods for towing? Do you change the DSG oil any more frequently? Don't you fancy something a little more suited for towing like a Tiguan? Being sat up a little higher and having bigger mirrors helps for better all round visibility when towing. Plus a taller car punches a bigger hole through the air making the transition of the air over the car to the 'van smooth...
