Hi there, I've no idea why there's a hole there, for some reason the tdi's have them.
It won't be the cause of the fumes in your cabin thou.
You can buy them bends with out the hole, I think from a golf gti.

I used a autophix V007 to help diagnose my air bag fault, which was the switch unit in the glove box, the key switch that turns the air bag on and off on the passenger side. Option number 2, if its empty already you won't need to worry about getting the gases pumped out.

I had the same issue too, I removed the trim and folded up some felt and stuck it behind the trim.
Also your key could be rattling inside the fob.

Just a quick up date, I couldn't find / convinced by some of the companies that I found locally.
So I took a gamble on a ebay aircon leak sealer and aircon top up can.
I'm pleased to say it's seams to of worked for me.

Hi there, I had the same too, I replace the sensor with £20 oe one. I double checked the part number on my sensor before I ordered it It took no longer than 30 minutes to replace.
