Which ones did you buy and where did you get them from? Mine need changing... Is there a good way of getting the old ones out or is it just angle grinder and a big hammer and drift?

Thanks!

Flywheel size

autodoc.co.uk lists loads of different flywheels that fit a bkp engine, some are 240mm and some are 280, does it matter which so long as the clutch is the right size for the flywheel?

Any advice appreciated, super confused at the moment...

Thanks!

Thanks!

Re: Replace rear brakes without VCDS?

Thanks guys, I'm in Norway at the moment so trying to get things sorted myself. I'd just have it all done by a garage if I was in the UK but I can't afford the prices here! Might have to just stump up and cry about it for a bit haha

Re: Replace rear brakes without VCDS?

Winding back the caliper piston against an unparked motor will cause voltage fluctuations through the module boards. Also any brake work on the rear should be supported by a battery charger to ensure 12 volts voltage is maintained as low voltages can also cause damage to early brake modules. It is ...

Re: Replace rear brakes without VCDS?

When you say they are voltage sensitive what do you mean? They're easily overloaded? How could I damage one accidentally?

Replace rear brakes without VCDS?

So, I want to try and replace my rear discs and pads myself but I don't have VCDS or access to it, is there a way of still doing it? I've seen some videos where they do it but some others where they explicitly state not to do it in the way they do it in those other videos...

Handbreak problem

So I took the handbreak off and the breaks came off but the button light started flashing, I have a red flashing handbreak light on the dash, an amber warning light on and a beeping noise like the seat belt noise but slightly different. Can anybody tell me what this means and what I can try to sort ...

I know the battery isn't great, I just want to know if it's a combination of things instead of just the battery. I am on with replacing the battery already.

Electrical drain

So my battery is nearing the end of it's life, which is annoying, but on the upside i'm getting very good at bump starting... Anyway, are there any common faults that would cause an 07 2.0tdi sport wagon to drain the battery? I think it's more than likely to be just a senile battery but I don't want...

Re: Rear Wiper

I think it's not the fuse, I wasn't sure which fuse so I checked all of them in the end and I couldn't find any blown ones, I'm going to assume rear wiper motor and have a go at replacing it the next time I can find a scrap yard replacement.

Rear Wiper

So my rear wiper has decided that being able to see out of the back window is an unnecessary feature for my car to have and has stopped working. This is very tedious. I like being able to see out of the back window. I can't hear the motor trying to work. I can hear the relay click when I flick the s...

Re: Scratchy left front speaker.

I tried swapping the cables behind the headunit and the problem didn't shift with it so it's not the headunit, I don't know how to test the wires without a spare speaker which I don't have and I can't access the back of the speaker because that requires so much work it's not worth it and I might as ...

Scratchy left front speaker.

So the passenger side front speaker has become very scratchy, as it's just the one unit I'm assuming it's either a connection to it or the unit itself. I have check the plug on the side of the speaker behind the door card but haven't gone any further with disassembly yet. Are there any usual suspect...

Re: Key Stuck in Ignition?!?

I'm not entirely sure but I've come to the conclusion it was a dodgy connection in the unit the key fits into, after slamming the glove box below it back into place it released my key, it got stuck once more after that but another harder slam of the box released it and after that no more issues. Wei...
