Re: Sport estate suspension

It’s a Passat not an Aston, wasn’t exactly the pinnacle of handling before I swapped them over, just a little comfier now.

Will swap the fronts as soon I have the time.

Re: Sport estate suspension

Gents the car is back now and I’ve had the rear shocks and springs replaced, it may sound odd but it was so are at the rear that I went with standard springs and shocks. The car sits much better now only slightly higher at the rear and rides much more comfortably, it’s still not super soft but far b...

Re: Sport estate suspension

That’s great thanks David, I’ve found a place in London called Triscan that can supply two sport springs for around £75 all in, just a little cautious in case they’re telling me duff gen ! I wonder if I could fit standard springs and shocks as can get them all for around £100 and improve the ride ? ...

Re: Sport estate suspension

Quick update in the rear suspension issues I’ve been having, I’ve spoken to the garage this morning and they’ve confirmed that one of the rear springs has been replaced with aftermarket one and the other side has the original sport spring, this would explain the height difference side to side. I’m l...

Re: Sport estate suspension

Thanks David, That’s great information and I’ll contact the dealer tomorrow and do a little digging, the car has gone back today to hopefully be sorted and I’ll get them to check the colour code on the springs. My car has a compliant yet firm front end when bounced up and down yet the rear is very f...

Re: Sport estate suspension

Thanks for your reply Dmitch, I’m going to take this to the dealer tomorrow and have them check it out as I’ve only just bought the car and have 3 months warranty, I’m sure it’s too hard even for a sport model, may even try the last owner and see if they can shed any light on it. I’ll try to get the...

Re: Sport estate suspension

Thanks highline,

The car does have a tow bar fitted so may well be the case, I’ll have to try and figure out which spring is on it .

Sport estate suspension

Hello all, Newbie here so please excuse my ignorance. I’ve just bought a 2008 B6 sport and love the car apart from the rear suspension seems incredibly hard, it feels as though there’s little suspension on it-unusually it’s worse on the motorway as feels jittery and hard which gets tiresome on long ...
