I've got play on gearbox flange, up and down, but the gearbox whines a lot. The gearbox I'm slowly putting in has no up and down play, but 1-2mm side to side.

Did you feel the play yourself...? Was it in out, side to side play or up and down play,, there's gotta be a better term than in out, but I don't know it.

You didn't mention snub nose removal...?

Are injectors read ...? there's loads I don't know about, sorry.

I've read dropping sump is a pain though, maybe drop that and clean....?

I'd bite their arm off for £150, been quoted £250-300, which for disconnecting driveshaft, linkage and speedo is a good earner. Yeah, Mr Huwey, been on PD oil (garage invoice) till 80k, Morris 5/30 for 15-18k (Eeek) then VW spec by me every 8k, on 140k, so yeah TB at time of outage. Just can't find ...

There was a chap on FB selling a 6 speed on FB page, don't take my advice as truth as I'm just coming to grips with it but....you need an ELN code gearbox from Getrag, the AEK-Z reference is just the casting ref, NOT the code....ask me how I know that .

where are you, have a look on the how to for turbo removal, I'll help you a little as I don't know a lot, turbo on FB page for £100, few tools,patience, new oil feed, might as well get a fuel filter.
