Re: Quality Shocks
There's a chance the eBay description was written incorrectly. But Ive contacted the seller with a cancel request. Hopefully it goes through and I'll reorder with the part numbers you cited.

Re: Quality Shocks

Then the set I ordered has the correct rear shocks but not the correct front ones...
Least now I know the part numbers.
Cheers buddy. I'll get it sorted.

Re: Quality Shocks
Thanks for the response, Gaz.
The VIN plate says "AWX 1897" and I know the car is 130BHP.
Is this what you mean by "AWX 130"?
Thanks again.

Re: Quality Shocks
Thanks for the response.
Clearly I need guidance, which is why I'm here.
How does one ascertain the engine code and power of their car?
Thanks again.

Re: Quality Shocks
Thanks for the help. But some that is over my head I can tell you this: 2004 Highline Estate 1.9 TDI (red eye) I'd imagine it's a standard suspension. I certainly don't want a sports suspension. Not sure were to get information on power or engine code. Perhaps you could lend some advice on how to ge...

Re: Quality Shocks
Thanks for the info. I bought a full set for £160. I wasn't sure about the different types though. I bought a set that was described as suitable 3BG. Which my chassis plate has on it. But my question is are all the shocks the same for any 2004 Passat? I know there are some differences between B5s an...

Re: Quality Shocks
Thanks for the reply. Is this a Bilstein B4? And is it a good price? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2X-BILSTEIN-SHOCK-ABSORBER-GAS-REAR-AUDI-A6-4B-C5-97-05/372129532673?_trkparms=aid%3D555018%26algo%3DPL.SIM%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D52945%26meid%3D680379f0d1a04930b10b7f06524212da%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3...

Quality Shocks
I'm getting a "soooooosh" sound from the back left shock when I go over speed bumps. The same sound one hears from the boot hydraulic when the boot is opened. I'm guessing this is a bolloxed shock, right? I'm going to order a couple tomorrow, am I right that they have to be done in pairs? ...

I read on another forum that it needs to be driven for a bit in order to heat seal.

Engine cover - missing thread
One of the three fixed bolts used to secure the engine cover is missing on my Passat. Any ideas on how I could attach something in there that the nut could be screwed to? Or do you think it would be possible to tap and die a new thread into it? https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180422/c6f1c3d0edab8...
