Tyre sidewall damage

Hi - please see attached pic of damage to nearside rear tyre sidewall. I have been driving on this for several weeks- no ply showing, no bulging, but am concerned about it. I am loathe to replace cos it's a fairly new, high quality Michelin tyre, but perhaps I should. It did pass an MOT with this, b...

Driver's seat dropping

Hi- this is really annoying- every so often when I get into the driver's seat in my B6, it drops all the way to the floor and has to be re-adjusted back to where it was. Is this common and can anyone suggest a part of the adjuster that might be failing? Any help much appreciated. James Sent from my ...

Replacing parking brake motor

Hi- 2008 2.0 TDi B6- I see that nowadays you can buy the rear caliper parking brake motors pretty cheap. My question is- is it easy to replace these? Is it just a case of unscrewing them from the assembly and replacing or is there more to it? My rear offside was stuck on a while back and I haven't u...

EPB issue

Last night, car wouldn't move- EPB warning light flashing etc.. This morning, tried car again and no apparent problem (thank god)!
Should I be worried? Is this a sign of a failing switch or caliper motor on the way out?
Any advice appreciated.
Cheers

Waterless wax

I know I'm way behind the curve on this, but I've just discovered this stuff- my missus bought a Ford SMax and it came with a load of Diamondbrite stuff so I used the waterless wax on my B6. I was initially sceptical, but it did a great job. Anyone else use this stuff/ wouldn't use it? Cheers James ...

Re: Gearbox lurch?

I do my own servicing and 'minor' jobs, but I wouldn't want to attempt that.
I guess there's not much I can do except live in hope that the clutch and flywheel last for a while longer.
Would you discount any other possibilities then?
Cheers

Re: Grill

Personally prefer standard. However, mine hasn't got the chrome across the whole grill like yours. Did that come as standard or is that a modification?

Re: Gearbox lurch?

Thanks for info.. No other symptoms on my car at present, although clutch biting point does seem low. I'll keep an ear out for further symptoms. I take it this would be an expensive fix if it becomes a problem? Sent from my SM-A520F using Tapatalk Still on first clutch, yes. Sent from my SM-A520F u...

Re: To tint or not to tint?

I have just got a black B6 Highline & I would definitely tint the rear windows & rear screen. I think it would look really good. How are you gonba do this? Professionally or DIY?

Mileage is 135k. Any other symptoms that would indicate a worn flywheel?

Gearbox lurch?

Hi - new to forum- have just bought a B6 Highline - very pleased with it so far apart from one issue- when I engage first or second when at slow speed, there is a noticeable lurch when changing gear- not noticeable in higher gears at higher speeds. I am thinking worn gearbox mounts- am I right or is...
