Hi, Whilst my 2004 Passat Estate (appears) mechanically fine there are a few electrical gremlins, as such I bought VCDS and took it for a run it up last night - cleared the existing logs and after a re-check this is what was found. I'm still extremely new at this and wondered if anyone could help in...

I had the same issue with mine, every so often I would have to open up the remote fob and flex the metal prongs that make contact with the battery. Used to work, then in the end I replaced the fob as it was the soldering that has failed and all is well again. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202108...

I wouldn't worry, mine has a 5 there. If you're doing the job yourself, make sure you search the forum for tips etc, loads of info on here. mine is WVWZZZ3BZ4E2283** so well above 072000 (no idea whether it's ok to post your vin?)

some mentioned the B5.5 being 3BZ_3_ which confused me as mine has a 4 in that position

You will need 16mm balljoint then. There's 2 different sizes 20mm and 16mm. is the locking motor built into the catch assembly? I had wondered if too much pressure on the catch release or even just a wd40 squirt and pray into the mech might sort it out?
