Retrofit Heated Leather Interior B7 Estate
By B7 Alltrack was never fitted with heated seats and it seems to be a very rate option. My previous B6 had heated leather and I'd like to upgrade my B7 to heated. I'm a competent DIY'er and Ive done this on previous cars such as BMWs and a Mk4 Golf. Does anyone have experience of this conversion on...

Re: 2012 B7 2.0Tdi TPMS Issues, What Are My Options?
I think I've solved this. I replaced the wheels with a set off my Skoda Superb which don't have sensors fitted. The system doesn't see any errors and there are no warnings on the dashboard.

Re: 2012 B7 2.0Tdi TPMS Issues, What Are My Options?
The price of genuine sensors from the dealer is £361.20 each and I need at least 3 of them.
I need an alternative solution, someone must have had this issue before.

The price of the genuine sensors is not very attractive.

Re: 2012 B7 2.0Tdi TPMS Issues, What Are My Options?
Yep, that's definitely an option. I thought they had to be coded though and you had to tell the system which corner they were fitted to? But I freely admit that I don't really know. I have three aftermarket wheels on my car and one factory. I don't know of the sensors will fit aftermarket wheels or ...

2012 B7 2.0Tdi TPMS Issues, What Are My Options?
I've been on the forum before, had a couple of B5s and a B6, Currently own a couple of Skoda Superbs and have just bought my first B7 The TPMS light is on and there is no button to cancel it, so I have the system with sensors in the wheels. The system shows only one of the sensors is working (OSR). ...

Recommissioning the Air Conditioning 1.9tdi
Loving my B5.5 1.9 tdi but the aircon doesn't work and it hasn't worked since I got the car. There was no gas in the system, seemed pointless re-gassing it without changing the rad, as it was cheap enough I put a new one in. Now the compressor doesn't run (yes there is enough gas in the system), sta...

Re: AVB Alternator Belt Tensioner Change
Great advice, thanks for all your help. Minor issue the pulley was really on tight so had to take the alternator off and do this on the bench, all in took about an hour. So now the belt etc. has gone quite I can really hear the engine cover rattling. All the rubber grommets have disintegrated, can I...

I just ordered one on Amazon Prime, looks the same and it lists my year/model
Do I have to remove the alternator or can I fit it in situ, do I have to remove the front of the car?

Re: AVB Alternator Belt Tensioner Change
OK sounds like a plan! I've ordered the tool, here next week. Tried to order the clutch but the supplier I went to will only sell me one if I provide the numbers off the old one, which I cant get to without taking the alternator off or getting the fan pack out. Is there a shortcut to identifying the...

AVB Alternator Belt Tensioner Change
Not been on her for a while so first a quick update. My B5 2.0 TDI estate is still running at 157k, not been the most reliable car I've ever owned, steering lock, DPF failure, turbo actuator, various sensors, ERG valve, the list goes on. There is no comparison with the BMW I own that has done even m...

Re: P2563 Turbocharger Boost Control Error Code
Just came back to the forum as spent the last week playing with my BMW.
Thanks very much for your insight. So no straightforward answer, looks like I'll have to pay for an hour's diagnosis at the local specialist then.

Re: P2563 Turbocharger Boost Control Error Code
So the Actuator was changed, followed by the sensor and now the car runs really well, except.... Blue smoke on overrun. Take your foot off the accelerator to slow down and when you accelerate there is a nice cloud of blue smoke in the mirror. The garage haven't investigated but suggested a blocked b...

Re: P2563 Turbocharger Boost Control Error Code
I decided not to go for the cheap turbo as the quality was a bit of an unknown. So I'm having the actuator replaced by my local trusted independent. 4 hours labour plus the parts so about £400.

Re: Tdi Estate Raer PArking Sensors Retrofit. Neater Option?
Thanks for all the replies. I have the standard head unit so not keen on the camera solution. Thought of using one of those number plate surrounds with sensors in but again they don't look too clever. Knowing the bumper has markings on the inside for where the sensors should go is really useful, so ...

Re: P2563 Turbocharger Boost Control Error Code
The diagnosis is correct, it's the vacuum unit that has failed. I'm being quoted £137 + vat for the vacuum unit plus fitting which will involve removing the turbo due to restricted access. Alternatively I can have a reman turbo from ECP/CarParts4 less for about £330. Given the car has done £140k I'm...

Tdi Estate Raer PArking Sensors Retrofit. Neater Option?
What is it with VW? I have a 60 plate Highline and it doesn't have parking sensors on the back. I don't know of another manufacturer that didn't fit sensors on this type of car back then (apart from GM). So I need to retrofit rear sensors before I hit another car on Costco carpark again! Most of the...

Re: P2563 Turbocharger Boost Control Error Code
Thanks very much for the reply. Having done as much research as possible on this I suspect it's a vacuum problem as you suggest. The problem becomes apparent when the car is cold and I stop at a junction or roundabout. It's a bit cold and wet outside so for once I will probably have someone else che...

P2563 Turbocharger Boost Control Error Code
Hi, I have had the flashing glow plug light come on a few times, it generally comes on when you have to stop with the engine cold, then it resets and stays off for the rest of the journey. I have done a scan with VCDS and it comes up with: 009571 - Turbocharger Boost Control Position Sensor Circuit ...

Re: Heater Motor Resistor Pack, Which One?
Thanks,
I ordered one from the UK but they sent me Chinese one I could have got at half the price. Fitted and it works fine for now. I've kept the old one which was a Valeo and will do the repair you have suggested if this one fails.

Heater Motor Resistor Pack, Which One?
My first post! I've had a few Passats in their various forms over the years, a b5.5 Tdi estate, an a6 1.8t and the Skoda Superb Elegance 1.9Tdi which was a cracking car until water got under the carpet. Today I picked up my b6 140 Tdi Highline Estate, it's a late one first reg in October 2010. Coupl...
