Re: AWX 1.9PD miss fire from 1800rpm

I got 2. One of a Passat and a 'just incase' of a Golf.
I used a sealant for the threads on oil central heating. Once it dries, it holds the gasket to the pump

Re: AWX 1.9PD miss fire from 1800rpm

All sorted. Tried removing the pressure port on the back of the pump to do a pressure test and twisted up 2 Allen keys and bent one spanner. So went to pull the fuel pipe off the return to the filter and bust the plastic t-piece vale. So rather than faff about, I went to the scrappers, bought a seco...

Re: AWX 1.9PD miss fire from 1800rpm

That makes sense. Just looked at the tiny holes.
What is the bigger hole for in between the 2 top seals?

Re: AWX 1.9PD miss fire from 1800rpm

Thanks guys. 👍That is news to me. I was led to believe that as long as it was a good flow rate, the PD pumps did the pressuring?
I will try that tomorrow.

AWX 1.9PD miss fire from 1800rpm

This all started back in November. I have changed the fuel filter twice. Cleaned the tank pump (that was black and caked). Replaced all 4 injectors. Replaced injector loom. Replaced the turbo. Made certain the inlet manifold is clear which it was. Good flow of fuel back to the tank. When I accelerat...

Re: Which new diesel estate would you recommend?

Had a few Beemers. Loved my last 5 series but too many problems with the engineering designs on them now for a hands on fixer like me

Re: What is control module fuel pump fault?

Starting problem now solved. Took vacuum pump off which is not a nice job. No faults. Changed number 1 injector (old school number 1) and no injector 4 fault now. Took return pipes off fuel filter for the 100th time and all under pressure with bubbles coming out of course as I've had it apart! Big c...

Re: Which new diesel estate would you recommend?

Thanks gazwould.
I have been considering a Skoda.
What is MQB?
Is that the 2.0TDI ?
Any particular year?
4 motion would be good as we could sell our 4x4 that we need.

What is control module fuel pump fault?

2003 1.9 PD AWX engine. It started playing up last November after a load of water in diesel (another story) all cleaned and flushed. It then came up with injector 4 fault. New loom fitted and it still miss fired. Changed injector number 4......which under old school, is the one nearest the back........

Re: AWX 1.9Pd limp mode at 60 degree Centigrade

Turns out that the small amount of play in the turbo shaft was enough to throw it all out. Used the one from my spare and all is hunky dory except for an over boost this morning which I reset.
It's great to be driving it with all that torque back again.

Best VCDS to buy?

I'm coming out of the luddite era of knowing how to fix cars, to having to scan them. I have 2, 5.5 diesel Passats, 06 Beetle Convertible diesel and a very simple 2.4 T4.........and a Nissan Terrano plus a few classics. My sons are coming of driving age and hopefully, I will be able to persuade them...

Re: Best way to remove N75?

N75 swapped. Still a bit hesitant but turbo worked as it should, then after about 10 miles, it started to go back into limp mode and would not accelerate up and over a motorway bridge in second gear. Pulled lead off MAF and some BHP came back but not the 130bhp. So that is all the valves, MAP and MA...

Trying to pinpoint why my 1.9 goes into limp mode and I want to remove the N75 to swap it with a spare but I cannot find any information, not even how it is attached?

Disconnect MAF and it comes slightly out of limp mode

The saga continues. Fuel filter changed. Fuel pump clean. Turbo taken apart and all good. Goes very well when not in limp mode. Gone into limp mode from cold start. Disconnected the MAF and it runs better and driveable but not as it should. Swapped MAF from my other Pissrat, no difference, goes into...

Re: AWX 1.9Pd limp mode at 60 degree Centigrade

Mr Passat. We think my other Passat was not working correctly as that fan did not nun when the air con is in ECON mode. With mine in ECON, so I found out it does not run. That problem solved.
