Re: Intermittent high idle?
If you blip the throttle, do they drop? Did you try ECON on AC to see if revs settle? Yes we have been running the car with the A/C on ECON because it needed recharging. Had no impact on the revs. As I say it is intermittant, normally accompanied by a puff of balck smoke for the exhaust on start up....

Re: Intermittent high idle?
Coolant temp sensor, aircon compressor / climate control or voltage draw by cooling fans.
Press ECON and this disables the pump - if idle stays the same it's normal - if it still fluctuates it could be an issue with temp sensor.

Attached at the front bottom left near the turbo intake and is attached with 2x 10mm bolts.
I bet it's a sticking VNT mechanism that's causing the limp.

That's right, if you have the SKC of both new and old, you can reprogram the new cluster to the old SKC and reuse your old keys

No, cluster swapping is different as you'll need to also swap the immo chips in the key fob also

Re: Ecu swap
Not correct /\ The immobiliser is in both the Instrument Cluster and ECU. The Cluster controls the signal from the chip in the key fob and manages the system. As long as they are still correctly matched, the immo error will not illuminate, irrespective if the ECU IMMO is disabled. The ECU needs to h...

Re: 130 sport not much of a build, build thread
So not done anything to the car for ages, 2 main reasons: 1. It hasn't needed anything apart from the usual service 2. With new MOT rulings I'm a bit weary of spending any money on the old girl if she isn't going to pass emmisions! So speaking of MOT mine is due in April so at the end of the month ...

I'm rocking some LS338 tyres on the 4motion - £120 for 4 and grip and wear rate is pretty good.

You can disable the IMMO on the EDC15P ECU relatively easily asking as it's IMMO 3

Have you tapped it down into place? Pushing it isn't enough.

Re: oil dipstick tube
Nope, you have to tap it carefully down so it securely fits and you can pull it in and out fine. It will be tight as first (no pun intended).

Snapped mine last week - bought this;

Remove old one, place over metal pipe and cover top with a rag and gentle tap down into place, works perfectly.

Re: temp sensor housing
If its the 1.9TDI, the coolant housing is in two pieces, top (outer) is plastic and part attached to head is metal (aluminium I think) and there is a rubber gasket between the two that hardens and perishes over time. There is also a pipe the runs between the temp sensor housing and tandem pump that ...

Re: temp sensor housing
Has anyone replaced the temp sensor housing? I noticed when my gearbox was out that the housing was dripping, and as I'll be putting my refurbished box in soon, it may be wise to replace it, the k-seal is working fine at the moment but I would hate to miss an opportunity if it's a fairly easy fix, ...

Re: AVF egr map out
The original one can (I guess?) The 10£ chinese knock-off can, maybe, if the stars align and the four horsemen give their blessings etc etc. I've had a 50% success rate with a knock-off, one ECU did not wake up and the other one I managed to salvage with bootmode. Both were identical EDC15 controll...

Re: AVF egr map out
If mapped correctly, smoke should be minimal and just like normal. It may possibly have a slight haze under heavy load.

Re: AVF egr map out
Noted the above, yes if you go DIY prepare for the worse however, EDC15P is the easiest ECU to recover.
Blacksmoke have mixed reviewed as most of there maps are percentage tuned (20%) duration mapping limiters flatlined. They work, just a dirty way of creating power.
