Re: Black Smoke remap?

You buy the cable separate. You're paying for the map file itself. I have a map from them on my avf b5.5 and it has had a noticeable improvement. 182k and no issues ;)

Re: Beep from dash

A beep from the dash usually flashes the temperature along with a snow flake.

A beep from the stereo could be the PA or TA (can't remember which) setting where it beeps to let you know that your radio signal is week or has changed over to a similar wave length for that station (afaik)

Door lock mechanism

Back again with another head scratching problem. A while a go I was working on the door hand trying to sort out the lock (any time I unlocked the car I had to pull the outer door handle twice to open the door) which with my luck the little C bracket fell off the door barrel meaning it was no longer ...

Re: Studdering between 1400 and 1800

Have you replaced the injector loom ? . I would start with that first, cheaper than an injector and if you do have to change an injector you may cause issues with an old wiring loom as the plastic hardens on the wiring and when disturbed can cause issues. Try reseating the connectors on the ECU and...

Re: B5.5 Features?

You can make the alarm beep when you lock and unlock the car. The boot carpet lift tab can hook on to the boot seals. Ignition buzzer (http://www.ukpassats.co.uk/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=69732&p=568544) its the alcantara seats I think has the base that folds up into a booster seat. Gissin y...

Re: Studdering between 1400 and 1800

Nothings been replaced bar the temp sensor. Plan is to work at this on Saturday or even a bit of tonight. I check the cabling tonight sure then I'll see about a loom. The fact the car isn't heating properly is bugging me too. it rarely reaches 90 - maybe after a good hard run but then cools down aga...

Re: Studdering between 1400 and 1800

So I got a genuine sensor for 40 F'ing quid in hope that this would resolve what I'm experiencing. NOPE Took a look at the live injector timings (i think thats what it came up as on his scanner) and seen that injectors 2 3 and 4 were all averaging around the .34 mark. However injector 1 was sitting ...

Re: Studdering between 1400 and 1800

I'll see about getting down at the weekend sure if thats okay. Need the temp sensor changed for definite as the hand doesn't even go near 90 anymore and the car does seem to want to hold the heat. Worst about it is, I just taxed the fecker and it decided that it would rather be a vibrator than a car...

Studdering between 1400 and 1800

Once again I've running issues :) its not sooo bad once you get going but when accelerating up through the revs I get what you'd describe as jitters to violent jerks when in 1400 to 1800 rev range. I took it out a run with a few full throttle runs from low down and you can drop in numbers when they ...

Re: Alarm query

A quick way to set the alarm off is to press the button the boot but don't open it - so it's sitting unhinged. lock the car, wait for a minute then open the boot - it should set the alarm siren off as well as the indicators. To try the internal sensors I would try sitting inside the car then pretty ...

Well the new part arrived and I was thinking, class, full boost again - cars going to be an animal.... not so much lol

Car boosts back to 22ish but doesn't seem to lift as aggressively :( not sure if it's this new map or thats just the way it is. Feel like putting the 110 MAP back in :/

Ive resorted back to my original factory map. Had a drop of 5-10mpg and after Andrew gave me some advice as to potential problem which i followed. But still no inprovment. Shame because for less than a tenth of the cost of a "normal" remap session then its a v good deal My miles gallon as...

Re: Possible N75

Got a lend of a MAP sensor off of a mate which is code: VW 038 906 051B which I know isn't the correct one for my car as mine is a VW 038 906 051C which is 3 bar sensor but non the less proved the point that my car wasn't running right. Plugged it in, took it a drive, and jezz was I smiling again!!!...

Possible N75

Not sure exactly what's going on here but here's the symptoms: -Little to no boost until about 3k (sometimes will boost normally just with a bit more lag) -When car is boosting and driving at a steady speed, boost is fluctuating between 5-10psi until it eventually gives up and goes back to 0. - Limp...

Re: blacksmoke remap £45

Can anyone say how much bhp and torque a standard clutch can take. Getting some slippage when booting it on mine. Even in third gear doing 2000k it slips. I'm not sure on the HP but I think 310nm is what they are rated too. The map (depending on mods and engine health) is 164hp and 290 going by wha...

Re: blacksmoke remap £45

Finally got the map on and now I'm very happy. I thought that my clutch would give up straight away but I'm pleased to say its hanging in there! it probably would, i used high heat auto silicone on it and mines fine you need something that seals and is flexible for the engine movement i just proper caked it on, also i think that it actually sucks air in from there so would pull the sealant into it thus helping with the seal Right, going to ...

Re: Should this turn????

Would the likes of window bond work okay? I used quick steel which worked a few months but due to nasty roads and engine movement it must have broke again. Having a vac leak also effects the responsivness of the turbo as when I start my car and start moving off there would be a dangerous amount of l...
