As it happens it does, however this high pitched tone is barely loud enough to hear over the noise of the engine. thanks for the input though. looks like ill be stripping out the liner lol

Thanks for the replies, but how do i stop blinding people ? I think the solution is to use normal bulbs. Yep I am all up for that, however i am not sure if the headlamp units i have just purchased will allow me to convert back to run normal bulbs because of the ballast packs. Am i not thinking this...

Its A B5.5. Just had the boxes out that they came in and there is no mention of any bulb strength. Will it be on the bulb. ?

to be honest, i dont have a clue, i bought them from a chap on here, brand new in a box, ill try to find out lol. also the adjuster in the car doesn't work now either.

Hi All, ive fitted some new headlights on the old girl, they have HID's, problem is im getting flashed by other motorists constantly, presumably because the lights are too bright. I've had them to my local garage to ensure that they are in the properly aligned, so im just trying to get your thoughts...

I stuck my mates code reader on the car and I got 2 codes 16485 p0101 mass airflow sensor implausible signal 17964 p1556 charge pressure control, negative deviation So I removed the MAF cleaned out the filter, pretty clean to be honest and sprayed the inside with contact cleaner. Delivered and fitted, sorry to report there has been absolutely no change. Any more ideas please. As in my first post, I need to drive the car over 2800rpm before it loses the chocked up feeling, then drives absolutely fine until the engine is turned off. Just finished, took me about 2 hours start to finish, wow there was a lot of crud in there. Went pretty straight forward to be honest. Lots of mr muscle and a long pipe brush did the trick. Thanks for your help people.
