As above I have had the laptop on the car and it shows the exhaust to be fine, I have got an after market swith fitted but my mechanic is saying it is returing to the laptop and not switching the light off, in your experiences would a genuine Vw work?

My car won't start and my mechanic says it's because of the hydronic 4 something or other, I have Googled it and car heaters come up, would a car heater not make the car start?

£3000, new engine, clutch, flywheel ,timing belt and recon turbo

So any Passat engine after 2011 should be ok to buy?

I will just sell the car I have now and buy something reliable.

Just had my 2008 Passat back from having a reconditioned engine, I know know from being on the forum that Bxe 2006-2011 engines were not mm much good. Would engines after 2011 be better? Or is there a spacific engine that is better than all others for the Passat.

just finishing having a replacement engine fitted to my Passat estate and was wondering if it is worth getting it remapped from 105bhp, I only ask because looking through the forum it seems that the b6 2006 -2011 engine is the biggest pile of poo that ever graced the earth,

It's a second hand engine from a donor vehicle, all the new parts off my old engine have been swapped, before joining the forum I did not realise that there were so many common faults with passats!

Well the car is coming back this week after a full engine swap! Now the car is a 105 bhp and not knowing anything about remaps, is it possible to remap the car? Which remap is best? Do I need to get the dpf removed ? Does anything need to be done to the computer and would I have trouble getting thro...

Still no car. Because the the car is at a garage 30 minutes away I don't have access to the number, as of Friday a new engine was purchased and hopefully this week have it fitted, I'm then told the turbo will need to be looked at for damage, I will be glad when it's all over,
