B5.5 Rear Cigarette Lighter Fuse
Hi, I'm looking for the above fuse. I'm certain it's not with the rest of the fuses in the fuse box on the side of the dash, where you have to have the door open to get to them. This one has the front 12v fuse, but there's no fuse for the two in the boot or the rear, so they must be somewhere else. ...

Startup/Shutdown Rituals
Hey all, My Passat is my first diesel, and first turbo car, is there anything special I should know about when starting up and shutting down? More specifically, could anyone tell me if any of the points below are good tips, or a load of tosh? When turning the car on, give it about 3-4 seconds before...

Re: Spare Keys?
Is there one serial for the whole fob, or do different parts of the fob have different serials? I'm confused by the 3 stages of security as it were. Remote locking part (found that serial: 1JO 959 753 DA), key part (done by shape) and the immobiliser part (this has to be programmed by the VAGCOM, I ...

Re: Spare Keys?
I must be a total idiot here, there's several number inside the keys. On the bit with the key on, is "WT0>PAGF50<" Does that sound right? My last car was a Nissan 100NX, which didn't have an alarm or immobiliser, so this is really baffling for me! Once I acutally understand this, I'm going...

Half of that ment nothing to me.
Is it the sort of thing an independent garage can do, or is it a fairly specialist thing?

Re: Spare Keys?
My manual tells me how to sync the fob to the car, so that's not a great issue, it's more ensuring I buy the right thing. I see lots of fobs on ebay in parts, but if they're near impossible to assemble/seperate/any thing else, I'd like to know in advance. ;)

Spare Keys?
Hi, I'm sure this question must have been asked before, but I can't find it with searching. I've just bought a 2004 Passat, but it only came with one key. What's the cheapest way of getting a new fob and key, is there anything to look out for (I notice a few chinese versions on ebay) and any other p...

Stereo Swap Questions
Hi, I've a 04 Passat 5.5, and looking to chance the stereo to something else, however, I don't really want to lose the ability to use the steering wheel buttons, and the display above the MPG counter etc, as I find them quite handy. Would any after market stereo be compatible with these? Many thanks...

Hi, looking at maybe getting a remap on my 2.5 TDi for fuel economy, rather than anything else, who can you recommend?

Hi, new B5.5 TDi Owner :)
Hey all,
Soon to be a B5.5 Estate owner here, just wondering is there's any "must do" modifications (aside from moving the little black box under the passager seat ) and what other common modifications there are.
Thanks in advance
Chriss
