Same engine as yours and I get near 46 mpg and that is pump calculation doing 50 miles a day and not hanging about to much with dsg gearbox. If i go for it will drop down to 38-42mpg.

New brushes fitted, I did order 8x9 mm and had to sand them down a bit but you can see new vs old, De- soldering went well is well, bit noisy at the moment until new brushes bed in. First picture you can see before and after original brush wire removed, used de-soldering wire to remove original sold...

I'm looking for aftermarket RNS style head unit, there is few to choose from from eonon/ asure ect. Maybe you running one a could recommend something. I have seen few android base models is well is there any benefit of them apart from app market?

I would say one of your problem is not finalised your CD, none finalised disk can only be read by CD/DVD burners.
