Re: Clutch Slipping

are you sure its actual slipping. pulling off seems very strange. try sitting in 6th at under 2k revs and nail it, see if the revs increase more than normal. It was wheel spin was it? clutch change at 57k is very very bad IMHO Definately was not wheel spin, wish it was. Did it in 1st and 2nd at the...

Tuneside Ben wrote:the dealers will tell you to replace the dual mass fly wheel as a matter of course, these are actually not as bad as made out and at the kind of mileage you have done i would doubt the flywheel should need replacing.
Cheers Ben, I'll certainly discuss it with the garage.

Re: Clutch Slipping

Cheers for the replies.

I think I will get it done sooner rather than later. It is the family car so the last thing I want is to be stranded with the kids in the car.

Thanks for the tip regarding the 12 bolts, I'll make sure they are changed as well.

Clutch Slipping

I have a Tdi 170bhp with 57k. Moving off today with 5 people in the car noticed the clutch slipping under high revs as I pulled away. Seemed to drive OK apart from this one instance. Is the writing on the wall for a new clutch, how quickly should I change it? Anyone have any idea of what I should pa...

Improving Performance on 170TDi Sport

Hi All I have a 170 TDi Sport, overall I am happy with the car but would like to improve it in a couple of areas. Firstly possibly a re-map, I was thinking of a bluefin as I can remove it if I wish. Does anyone have any comments? Secondly I find it rolls a bit, what are the options to tighten it up ...

Re: hi, new and not yet in the passat world

Hi Nick

That's funny I posted my first post yesterday and I have just sold my Mondeo and moved over to a VW Passat. Perhaps all us Ford fans are changing sides .

I always fancied an ST220 - oh well too late now!

New B6 Owner

Hi All Just wanted to say hello from a new Passat owner. I have just acquired an 06 Estate, 2.0Tdi 170 bhp. I assume it is a B6. I am really enjoying the car but I may be interested in a remap, not because of lack of grunt but because of the lag under 2000 revs. I'll ask for advice before I go ahead...
