Afternoon all Looking at doing the timing belt and water pump on the 1.9 tdi AWX. Its the easier version with the litens tensioner. Now my question is, has anyone replaced the tensioner and idler studs on this engine when doing a belt change? Looking at the Gates kit there are no studs provided, how...

Got to the bottom of this in the end - One of the boost hoses under the car on the passenger side had partially blown off. Only just remembered about this post, hence the long time for the reply... in anycase, engine has coped it now, hole in the block behind the oil cooler, as well as the tensioner...

Did a scan and no fault codes are registering.

Just had a look at some videos of swirl flaps on YouTube. The intake manifolds on there look to be black plastic.. The manifold on my engine is cast aluminium

Yes Injector recall was done some time ago..

Since then it has had a new turbo, clutch, flywheel and numerous services..

By the way no engine management lights are on
