Slight headache
Ok so lately all my children have left home as grown up barring youngest who is now 17yrs and I was thinking of downsizing. I don't need something so big and can even go to a petrol car as mileage has dropped. However I can't think of a another reason to change me "jalopy". It starts on th...

Re: Bonnet release puller missing
Well I got a coat hanger shaped the end into a hook and managed to pop it open today. Removed the bonnet latch and fitted the puller on and it works fine. Good news as I did my 6 monthly oil and filter and air filter change so winner winner chicken dinner

Bonnet release puller missing
So this evening my daughter's car had a flat battery so I thought I'd give her car a jump start. Pulled the bonnet release on my Passat b5.5 and the puller which pops out has gone missing, like disappeared. I have no idea how but it's clearly went over the last 4 days as I checked the fluids on Thur...

Re: Never own another passat
I bought my TDI 4motion with loads of issues so went in with eyes wide open. I managed to fix the issues ie sunroof knackered door lock not working egr goosed and the list continued but the buyer made me aware before I bought it for a knocked down price. All done in 8 weeks and since it has been rel...

Re: Mot time today
It's been parked up and using my daughter's Kia picanto for the next week. The springs have been damaged at the top mounts so shall bide my time till they're replaced. So I don't mind my fire being wazzed on mate as I was more worried it wouldn't pass the emissions which may have been the end for th...

Re: Mot time today
I generally can however because it's a 4motion it just requires a bit more work. But the garage I get to do the bits I can't have always been reasonable with the prices.

Re: Mot time today
Well overall good news passed the smoke test .42 this is with a remap and regular use of two stroke. But failed mot as it needs 2 new rear springs changing which they've costed at £180 supplied and fitted. So even though failed I'm generally happy. Works gonna get done on the 3rd Jan as mot doesn't ...

Coolant leak from radiator
I noticed over the last couple of months that the coolant was going down slowly. Today I've had a look round the engine bay whilst the engine was up to running temp and looks like the radiator from the r/h/s as you look from the front is leaking coolant from round there. So question was gonna be how...

Re: What grease for ball joint boots is best?
Where did you get the boots from? My last mot picked up a splitting ballpoint rubber but the joint was absolutely fine no play. I was thinking about just changing the boot but don't know which size would fit. Checked eBay and there's loads of different sized one. Any help would be great

Re: Tuning boxes, or not!
I had my 1.9tdi 4 motion remapped by Simon in March this year. Have to say it's been brilliant. Power delivery so much smoother, pulls so much harder and revs all the way cleanly and mpg about the same. Plus not smoking which I thought it would.

All was going smoothly
Well as title says all was going smoothly driving great the remap is brill no naughty lights etc and then a clinking sound from the nsr area. I've had the car up on roadside ramps and cannot see or find anything loose. It's always when I go over a pothole or a speedbump just clinks then stops when d...

Re: mpg
I notice I get better mpg if I use my right foot instead of relying on the cruise control on the motorway.
