Re: Oil overfull, engine damage?
I've got the car home and removed the oil pump - the drive shaft is badly worn at the drive end, the pump is turning freely. So a few more questions please: 1) Would the oil pump drive fault explain the oil level increase seen previously? 2) Is there another fault lurking that would cause the drive ...

Re: Oil overfull, engine damage?
Had a chat to the garage guys this morning, they haven't done an oil pressure test, they're still reluctant to work on the car due to the potential engine damage I've caused. I'm tempted to get it home and attempt to remove and investigate the oil pump. Might be in above my head here!

Re: Oil overfull, engine damage?
Thanks for your reply, the garage didn't mention an oil pressure test but it was just a quick phone conversation with them yesterday - I'll be going in person on Tuesday so I will find out. Would the oil pump fault(s) you mention explain the oil level increase?

Oil overfull, engine damage?
Hi again all, hoping someone can advise and maybe save my Passat please. It's a 2008 B6 estate CBAB 2.0 TDi 140PS; the issue in summary is: Out of the blue I got a console warning message along the lines of 'oil pressure fault, do not drive'. There were no prior issues, the car was driving as normal...

Re: No power to rear passenger door - fixed
No responses to my question unfortunately but I persevered and fixed the problem, hopefully others might benefit from the details: A check of the wiring showed that there was indeed power and earth through the door pillar into the door, so the prime suspect became the door control module which is at...

No power to rear passenger door
Hi all, hoping for some advice please regarding my 58 plate 2.0TDi estate - the rear passenger door has lost power, it won't unlock and the window won't work. I'd like to do some basic checks, so have a few questions please: 1) As far as I can see there isn't a fuse that would cause this - is that c...

Re: remote central locking intermittent faults
Ok thank you, there are no codes when I scan in the usual way, but according to the manual there is a separate central locking controller behind the glove box? I haven't delved that deep yet. Tried new battery in the fob but no better.

remote central locking intermittent faults
Hi all, hoping for some advice please regarding my 58 plate 2.0TDi estate - the remote central locking system has a couple of intermittent faults: 1) The car appears to lock ok but later the hazard lights start flashing (no audible alarm). Unlocking then re-locking with the remote fob cures the prob...

Re: P0299 turbo underboost
Hi I tried a bottle of Wynns Pro Turbo Cleaner in the tank but it didn't help. My garage have quoted £408 for a recon turbo, and 6.5 hrs labour to fit it and do an oil+filter change. Sounds like this is OTT?

Re: P0299 turbo underboost
Hi thank you, I believe my garage checked the vacuum pipework for leaks, though I'm not sure if they verified that the actuator is working correctly. Is there a simple method for doing this? I know that the Mr Muscle option divides opinion but I wouldn't attempt to remove the turbo myself, so cleani...

P0299 turbo underboost
Hi all, my 1st time posting on here, but have read some useful advice in the past so hoping someone can help with this please. I have a 2008 B6 estate CBAB engine 2.0 TDi 140PS, I’m getting the P0299 turbo underboost fault code. The engine runs normally just after start-up but then quickly backs off...
