Cams in good condition chamfer visible on edges followers all ok. Need to look deeper. Waiting for some tools to arrive. Probably start on the head next weekend. Possibly take off the sump and have a look as well.

Thanks for the replies. The timing belt was changed 32k ago and looks in good condition. There doesn't appear to be any signs of slippage of the belt or the cam pully. I will take off the front end and check the timing marks before I start stripping parts of the engine.

Hi, Ive unfortunatley dropped my load cover and have broken the plastic stub shown earlier in the post. Thanks to the repair given ive managed to glue the stub back in place. Hi, how do i find out what springs my car ( 03 4motion est 1.9 tdi) should have come fitted with ? Ive done a search and referance was made to the build sticker containing this information. Where do i find the build sticker ? Thanks in advance

Hi , the bushes on my front upper arms are knackered. it is a 03 4 motoin est 1.9tdi. Ive looked on ebay but there seems to be a large variation in price .Can anyone recommend a brand to buy ?? and should i consider changing the lower arms as wel l?? Any help appreciated. Thanks

Hi, ive fittd a set of Eibach uprated springs from Demon Tweeks were about £60 6 months ago. They lowered the car approx 40mm , ride quality is much improved over std ,far less wallowing .
